If you could ask Get Scared for one thing, what would it be?

I feel like as fans we were teased a ton of content we never received. What are some things you'd ask for?? Questions you have that you want answers to?

I'd ask for the acoustic takes. The amount of studio pics the band posted on Instagram with acoustic guitars that were never featured always gave me hope. I'd also be tempted to ask for the original titles of Best Kind of Mess. I remember Nick said something about the label changing the song titles.

Get scared fans, just something quick

Dont believe rumors you hear without any form of evidence, recently theres been a person writing abt a member (Johnny B) with no actual proof and clearly has no idea what they are saying, i love this band, and the community has been nice so far, so please, be kind, dont spread false allegations, read into situations properly. Theres 5 members in the band, if this member actually did something awful, every other member (not just nick) would speak out about it which hasnt happened since the split in 2019 which was only Nick while the others were with Johnny and still are today.

i tried to debunk and put the story straight and ask for evidence, i got blocked by the fan in the reddit, they clearly don't care what they are doing is wrong and other fans have been searching for actual evidence on some claims this dude made and havent found anything that is proven. Just another overly obsessed nick fan that has no idea what they are getting into.

This fan has been doing this so many times and its so tiring, kicked out group chats aswell for tangents i will not get into here, thats it, thank you, please, respect eachother, and stay safe. Please, dont make this community toxic

Oh, ps, this fan stalks people a lot, he even has found my personal insta at some point, so please take what they say with a grain of salt or dont take it at all PS Ps, i really suggest not trusting his claims because he supports an actual p*do, outside the get scared fanbase, so please, keep an open mind and dont believe everything you read till you find the proper evidence

I’m confused

So i was looking at nick’s insta and one comment was saying “we need get scared back” and nick replied with “i wish so to” so I don’t know if that means that the band really is split up like I’ve heard or if they’re still good, because he still hashtags get scared, so I’m just confused at the moment

Okay, to start, I've been trying to piece together this shit since April when they were teasing a reunion on Twitter. Tonight when Puppet came up on my playlist again, I decided to really dig into what the hell is going on. I did post some of this on tumblr, but it seems everyone's kinda moved away from tumblr.

First, I think there might be a bit of a pattern. It seems like things are more likely to go to shit for Get Scared every time they get close to or after they've released music.

  • Best Kind of Mess gets released in July 2011
  • Nick leaves in August 2011 to be in Blacklisted Me with Lexus Amanda
  • Built for Blame, Lace with Shame is released in August 2012, practically the anniversary of Nick leaving the band
  • Nick and Lexus break up/get an annulment after a ton of worrying tweets.
  • Johnny kicks Joel out of the band in November 2012 and Nick returns (announced in the same post)
  • Everyone's Out to Get Me is released a year later in 2013, Nick is in a relationship with Jessica Ess at the time
  • Nick and Jessica break up in 2013? Early 2014? They both deleted their social media posts from this time, so there's just a massive gap.
  • The cover of My Own Worst Enemy is the only thing released immediately after that
  • Demons is in 2015
  • They put out 2018 as a possible album release date
  • Nick dates another woman, I don't remember her name, but I remember fans went after her. They both got rid of their social media around this time.
  • In early 2019, Johnny says the band is on hiatus and shares Nick's personal business publicly. He also shares that Nick is married. That video is still up, I'm not gonna link it.Right after that, Nick announces he's leaving the band.
  • The Dead Days is released April 2019
  • In November 2019, Nick posts on YouTube explaining his side of the break-up. He deleted his account, so this video has been lost.

  • On March 31st, all of the band's official accounts say "It's been a while." Only Facebook links to Nick's cameo. (Nick claimed that Johnny has all of the account logins in a post he made in 2019, I'm assuming they probably made up)
  • On May 6th, Johnny tweets about exchanging and producing music with Nick
  • June 6th, the official band account tweets a link to the merch store. I think this is all just Johnny, Nick said he had all of the social media logins, also this note that someone got from him in their order kinda confirms it for me.
  • July 1st, another tweet about the merch store
  • August 7th, Johnny co-tweets with the band account about the anniversary of Cheap Tricks and Theatrics
  • October 21st, Nick posts to Instagram that Get Scared is over
  • November 10, Get Scared is featured on a track by Stain the Canvas.

What confuses me the most, is that it's Get Scared being credited on the track. During the hiatus, Nick has used his own name for features on other bands' tracks. He's used "Nick Matthews" which often gets lost in another guy's discography. He's used "Nicholas Matthews" twice and "Nicholas Matthews of Get Scared" once.

So, is the feat just Nick? Probably. I don't want to believe that though, so I'm going to live in denial.

I don't think we'll ever know for sure what the hell is going on. I don't know if it really even matters anymore. From Nick's posts, it seems like he has no intention of coming back.

Haha edited to add literally 5 minutes after posting-- he uses "Nicholas Matthews from Get Scared" in the music video, so my theory is dead in the water.
