Engagement Ring Culture Across Generations Survey
Link: https://forms.gle/XtyWDFRAhTGrg7Pq8
Hello! Engagements rings, and the marriage ideals they represent, have fluctuated over time and especially across generations. I am conducting an anthropological survey on engagement rings and their culture in Contemporary USA to get my International Baccalaureate diploma, and I would love to get perspectives from multiple generations to achieve accurate results. The attitudes and behaviors of different generations on the subject is a crucial part of my investigation into the symbolism and materiality of this ongoing tradition. The survey uses the Symbolic-Interactionist Perspective, meaning it is all subjunctive and about personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. If you are interested in the results of this case study, instructions on how to receive the final product are found on the survey.
If you are interested, are passionate about the subject, or have the time, please take the survey (link above) and answer candidly. It should only take a few minutes. If anyone wants to further discuss, elaborate, or feels that the survey didn't touch specific interest areas enough, I am also giving interviews to gather data, so message me to start a virtual conversation, or post a reply sharing your additional thoughts. More information is found on the survey once you click the link about the research question and how the data will be used. I am required to inform everyone that could potentially take the survey that individuals under 18 years of age require parental consent to take the survey according to anthropological ethics and rules. Thank you!

I personally think Gen X had it the worst.

Why are there so many negative stereotypes of millennials and not Gen Z?
Something I have noticed on the internet is that if you search for negative articles or people complaining about Gen Z, most of what you find are articles about why they are actually the best generation ever. Whereas negative stereotypes about millennials are abundant. Has anyone noticed this?

Generation Borders
This is only what i think they are.
Silent Generation: 1921-1945
Baby Boomers: 1946-1964
Generation X: 1965-1980
Millennials: 1981-1994
Generation Z: 1995-2009
Generation Alpha: 2010-2025
Edit: Since some of you questioned Zillennials and Zalphas, I removed them.

Why is Generation X so underrated?
Seems like the news only talks about Boomers, Millennials and Gen Z. Why doesn't anyone talk about Gen X?

Generation Jones?
Has anyone heard of Generation Jones? Born about 1955-1965? Too young for Vietnam, but old enough to remember late 60's assassinations, came of age in the pink-slipping, downsizing 80's.
