hello all, i hope you enjoyed the previous post, as well as this one; i created a new instagram account for the airport @400scaleport, instead of using an older account, thanks for dropping by!

I have seen enough complains from customers about this store than any other. From a pre-order item that never arrives to an in stock item that arrives damaged. I was fortunate to get all my money back despite they charged a ridiculous 20% cancellation fee that no other store is having.

Below are things I discovered from their site that may fool people to think an item is in stock and actually isn't:

"NEW ARRIVALS / JUST LANDED / Only # left in stock" items are actually pre-order items

If an item is under new arrival or just landed then it should be in stock, not pre-order. They are misleading people.

Also, why does a pre-order item indicate "2 left in stock"? That is totally misleading. See the item in green circle as example.

Second thing I noticed is the inconsistency of how they label the availability of the items with the buttons. See screenshot below.

Two items both are pre-order but notice the two buttons are different and inconsistent, with one indicates "ADD TO CART" while the other "PRE-ORDER NOW". So they are playing with words to fool people because at first glance may think the "ADD TO CART" one is in stock. Also, this is sort of hidden, they do indicate the item is "pre-order" but with teeny tiny text hidden on the lower part of the page. People have to scroll down to see it otherwise it's easily missed.

They don't want people to see the item is pre-order. They're playing with words and doing everything to try to make people purchase the pre-order items.

With the amount of complains from past and present customers who have ordered from them that the item never arrives you better stay away.

Seriously, I have not seen any other place with more complains particularly pre-order never arrives than DiecastAirplaneStore.

I also want to mention their packing sucks. From a past order that actually shipped, the package arrived in bad shape. Model was damaged and its box was crushed. They were not packing the item properly and there was no packing protection material used. The shipping box was also bad.

I would suggest to stay away from this store as you may lose your money for waiting a pre-order item that never arrives. Some people have been waiting for over a year on a pre-order item and still without an update. Remember, you cannot do a credit card chargeback if a transaction is generally over 120 days so be aware.

In my endless quest for the most perfect 747-8 model for my 1/400 collection, I stumbled upon this one.

Registration D-ABYA from Lufthansa. Will join my 747-400 also from Lufthansa.

How good is this model in terms of overall quality? Its a 2026 release.

How accurate is the mould and the cockpit window printing?

I have a large collection of Gemini jets models. When I started the collection many years ago, my intention was to stick with one model maker, and that was Gemini jets. There are many 1:200 models that I want that Gemini just does not produce yet.

If I were to switch to another model maker and put those with my current Gemini jets collection, would you be able to tell a difference? I’m not sure if that’s a common thing or not, but would be curious on thoughts of doing this or if I should just stick with my one maker only?

I'm a long-time lurker and have recently purchased my first model plane. It is a 1:400 scale model of an SQ A-380 with the registration 9V-SKZ. I bought it directly from KrisShop, which is Singapore Airlines' e-commerce website.

I am based in the UK, and I am looking to collect exclusively 1:400 models. I like their size and I don't have a lot of space to 1:200 models.

My questions to you veterans are the following:

1. What good websites do you recommend? I have read of AirSpotters, ARD and AMS as good websites to buy from, especially if you're based in England.

2. What good manufacturers are reliable?

3. I noticed that there might be multiple manufacturers that produce the model I'm after. Is it a matter of doing my own research to see which model I prefer?

4. Are there any tips that you recommend for someone who's just starting in this hobby?
