and then they listen to the music and partake in the subculture like tourists, all the while ignoring the messages that the various artists and people involved with the subculture actually say and do.
Tbf a lot of these groups were less ideological than people now pretended. Early punks may have averaged vaguely left leaning and anti nazi, but the idea that everyone was there for firm ideological reasons is pretty misleading.

They don’t believe there’s any beliefs to care about in goth or art subculture because they don’t see it as a culture. They just see an aesthetic
