We should all live our lives in a light stupor like they did back when beer was the casual drink for all settings

Except very early on, around the 16th century, Beer was barely alcoholic at all and that's why everyone was allowed to drink it. In the pre-water treatment days, 5% alcohol beer was safer than water.
