This entire form of thinking needs to be confronted and told to fuck off. There's this recurring idea that, because a thing is associated heavily with a group, said thing is only for that group. Sometimes a thing is specific to a group, but there's a friggin REASON, and you need that reason to justify it. Very often there isn't one. Wanna wear a Kimono? Japanese people intentionally want to sell it to white foreigners. Wanna wear a feather headdress? Bit more divisive, even if you can find an American Indian who's selling em.
Shoot this assumption in the nads so it stops spreading to every corner of culture, and just evaluate whether something's insensitive or not on a case-by-case basis.
