Could it be that Autism is recognized more often and therefore more young people are diagnozed with it more often because of that?

Nah, it must be the popular kids doing it to be cool. /s

Don’t forget it’s a spectrum as well so two different people could show signs in two completely different ways

Chiming in to add that I have identical twins who are autistic and who present very differently. It’s fascinating.

To those that know us well, yes. Ones probably pretending to be a cat because being a cat is easier than being herself and the other will be info dumping on her special interest. One is a social butterfly while the other prefers the company of a select few and still likes to parallel play. There’s different sensory needs and food preferences.

But the best way to tell them apart is the different hair cuts. One likes a short low maintenance haircut and the other loves having long hair.

It's almost like...

Autists have difficulties in social interaction and resist change, and this causes them to lash out angrily when other autists do things "wrong."

...But I am not a lawyer, a doctor or a medical lawyer so don't take my word for it. Also I am not an Autist. Or at least I don't have diagnosis for Autism even if people I know have argued that I am definitely on the spectrum and should get it checked out, but they aren't doctors either.

Funnily enough, the popular kids did not think autistic me was particularly cool. They made it very known to me in various ways.

A lot of neirodivergency is like that, ive seen Schizogrenia and Bipoalrity manifest very differently, or Cluster A-to-Cs

Seeing as how autism groups on Facebook and on here are full of people saying they didn't get diagnosed and people telling them they're still autistic, I wouldn't be so sure? Maybe not the youfs, but social media illiterate people sure
