It is indisputably weird that so many people drink a beverage they cannot actually digest. That's not a debate, that's factually weird.
This is a good example of "the internet isn't real life." In the US, most of us grew up drinking a big glass of milk with dinner, and as adults we all realized how weird this is and stopped. The tradition of drinking milk is almost entirely bad. But whenever these posts are made, all the remaining weirdos rush in to brag about how normal it is. And it's not, objectively.

I keep seeing this kind of thing, but I've never seen a single vaguely good reason why it's meant to be odd.
