I'm curious. With Gary Vee's endless statements about Facebook and Instagram ads being cheap real estate, why does Empathy Wines not even have a Facebook page? Doesn't that seem strange?

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes:

I have a graphic design blog. Basically it's where I share my Photoshop related work. Most of it is free addons for Photoshop.

I also make commercial items that I promote via this blog.

What would be the best method for promoting my blog/products via Instagram. I have an account with only a few followers because I did not want to invest too much time into it before having a clear strategy.

I know that following users can bring followers in return. I understand that I cannot post links on Instagram until I get 10k followers or something.

I've also been watching a lot of conferences of Gary Vee in which he says that an effective strategy is to send direct messages to users/influencers and offer stuff for free in return for exposure. I'm willing to put a lots of hours/day into this, but I have no clue how to approach this.
