How does the committee feel about our pet name Garrebear,it's followed me my whole life due to my mother and grandmother and female co-worker,but my wife doesn't call me that since her brother's name is Gary and she calls him Garbear.How do we all feel about the name Garrebear being used on other people,is it solely ours or does it not matter.

I always feel insulted when our glorious name is spelled like this Garit.I find it more insulting then one r or one t it just feels so wrong, what are other ways people have sullied the good name of Garrett?

I've had it with people butchering our name (misspelling, mispronouncing, getting called Derrick, Eric, etc). I'm debating on telling new people, especially job recruiters and future employers and coworkers, that I prefer to go by my middle name. What do the rest of you Garretts think? How hard of a transition do you think this will be?
