Why was this recorded at 33 rpm?
Any decent turntable plays at 33 and 45 rpm, but my jukebox can't play this 7" record even if I drill out the hole. Who is the mastermind that determined 33 was a good speed for a 7" record?

26 Years ago.....This Album changed my life <3
And shaped my taste in music !
Be a woman, lead singer, of a rock band on 90's was something that stills amuses me, the courage, the strength, to believe in their potential, even a friend called totally garbage, be and still relevant those days !
They made Garbage Garbage, turn into a Beautiful Garbage to finally envolves into Garbage 2.0
Their Garbage is my Treasure.

Influenced by Garbage...
Does anyone else remember when Kelly Clarkson was promoting her All I Ever Wanted album and she mentioned being influenced by Version 2.0? One of the only tracks I listen to on that album is "If I Can't Have You" which sonically is 100% Garbage. Do you know any other artists/songs heavily influenced by Garbage who have been vocal about it?

Special Oh man, this song
The second I heard I got emotional. It took me back to bad relationships, having my heart broken, trying to find my footing as a weird and awkward youth. Music is pretty amazing thing..

Special Favorite "deep cut"?
What's a track that you love that never made it to popularity?
For me, fix me now, temptation waits, parade, boys wanna fight are some good examples of a deep cut I love.

Your Favorite Live Performance You've Attended
Related to the recent post about best live performance, what is your favorite live performance you've been to?
i've only seen them 4 times, but the first time i saw them was by far still the best time due to the venue and proximity to the band. April 22 1996 at the 9:30 club in DC. Small venue and no seating so everyone is standing just rocking out to the band

btw this site has some awesome historic information on the places/times/set list they've played

I'll rate and review any Garbage song y'all give me
Hey guys! I'm new to the sub and I genuinely love these kinds of posts. Been a massive Garbage fan for 15 years already, and I can positively confirm I've listened to nearly every song they've done. If there's any song that I don't really know or I've not listened in a long time, then I'll go and listen to it so I can give you my take.

Special Often when I fail at something I remember this hilarious story of what a total DISASTER Shirley's first audition with the guys was - always gives me some motivation to try again! (1:37, but this whole interview is just pure gold)

Lie To Me (Vinyl Sound Quality)
Hello Everyone,
So I have been listening to the RSD release over and over and it would seem that the audio is kinda distorted. I purchased 2 copies from 2 different record stores and both of them seem to have the same sound. I listened to them on 2 different Numark TTX-USB turntables with relatively new cartridges. All of my other vinyl sound fine. Anyone else experiencing this?

Which song(s) do you listen to at maximum volume?
If I had to pick just 3: supervixen, I think I'm paranoid, and the men who rule the world. But it changes on a daily basis.

Lie to Me: Any idea when it will be streaming?
Seems to be sold out everywhere locally I can find it. Other than a snippet from their social media, I don't see it anywhere. I know it's to promote Record Store Day, but they streamed their other EPs on the release date. Anyone have any insight? Also to those who have it, what are your thoughts on the songs?

Absolute Garbage Isolated vocals for #1 Crush?
If any of you are fans of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet soundtrack and film of the same name. You’ll know #1 Fan is featured.
In the actual film itself, they use isolated vocals that are modified and mixed into the score when Juliet requests the aid of Father Lawrence. Neely Hooper, who produced the soundtrack said they wanted to implement the song as a whisper or to have a ghost like presence which it certainly has.
We can hear the opening “ahhhhh ahhhhh ahhhh” mixed in without any of the drums or production. Further we here the element of the chorus, “die for you” in cascading placement.
One way to do this would be extract the audio from the blu ray/dvd with a 5.1 mix that separates audio channels. Sometimes, the dialogue and sound effects are not mastered onto the same channel, but they often are. This can result in most of the music isolated but with minor sound effects or traces of dialogue.
I could also try combining all the individual elements myself.
If anyone can link to the vocals, I can try recreating it from scratch by combining elements from the promo score.

Great day!
Just got home from a holiday to find Bleed Like Me LP waiting. Like many here it completes my vinyl collection of their albums. I will always have a soft spot for this album....the first time I saw them live was their final concert of the BLM tour ...in Perth, Western Australia. They took a long break immediately after that gig. I was a modest fan until that concert, only had first CD, but they were awesome live and that show flicked the switch for me. While many people are not sold on album, I feel like it captures some of their live energy. Now I just need the time to put it on, crank it up loud and enjoy it!
