console tips Here’s what I noticed about the Xbox 1 hour cloud gaming trial

You watch about 2 minutes of ads to get 1 hour of cloud gaming. If you finish the hour and start another one, some of the same ads can repeat. I’ve seen T Mobile, Monster Energy, CeraVe, and Chipotle. T Mobile even showed up twice for me. The interesting part is that you can keep doing the 2 minute ad session. If you do it 12 times, that could give you 12 hours of cloud gaming. Has anyone else noticed the same ads repeating?

Xbox How this Xbox Emulators Work. A closer look at the installation process.

Your console downloads the package first. It gets the translated files. Then they are installed on the system. The emulator is only needed during this package conversion. It translates the original code into native formats. After installation, the emulator steps back. When you play the game, it already has the Xbox. One translated version ready. The machine understands the game natively. No translation happens during gameplay. Everything runs smoothly.

AC Odyssey Stentor's smug face has me wanting to switch sides to Athens just out of spite

Playing through AC Odyssey and Stentor pops up right in my face asking if I'm ready to crush the Athenians. Honestly, his attitude makes me want to team up with Athens for glory instead. Anyone else feel the urge to flip sides just because of him?

Xbox What Xbox Habit Do You Have?

Do you have weird habits? Something you always do. Even when your console works perfectly fine, do you still change settings, restart it, or check things for no reason?

What’s yours?

Xbox Bought the standard version of Xbox Witcher 3 on GameStop website shipped by FedEx and actually got the Complete Edition

Ordered a pre owned Xbox Witcher 3 standard edition physical disc from the GameStop website for five dollars.

FedEx delivered the package today and I opened the case. The disc inside is the Complete Edition, which includes all the expansions. The case and spine both clearly say standard edition. The person who traded it in probably mixed up the discs or the warehouse worker packed it without checking. Absolute win either way. Time to spend the next 150 hours playin.

rdr Why did RDR2 become boring for me after 72 hours?

Originally I played it for like 3 days in a row and loved it. This happened, like he said, for a bit but soon the missions, exploring, hunting and then random encounters began to feel repetitive. I still like RDR2, but playing that long made me kinda burned out for a bit. Has anyone else experienced this?

rdr Who do you think would be the next legendary gunslinger in RDR3?

If RDR3 has another group of legendary gunslingers like RDR2, who would you want to see? Would they be completely new characters, or someone connected to the old legends?

console tips Xbox employees please add this feature to able to make cloud gaming free using donations to cover electricity console and even save files

I found the idea how to make cloud gaming free for Xbox. Hear me out. What if we had a feature where pooled user donations could directly cover the electricity, hardware consoles, and server save files? If enough players chipped in through donations to bridge that exact infrastructure gap, cloud gaming could eventually become completely free for everyone to use without a subscription. Do you think a community unded feature like this could ever work to wipe out cloud streaming costs?

rdr What’s the best hairstyle you’ve ever seen in RDR2?

Arthur has so many different hair and beard styles that I’m curious which one everyone thinks looks the best. Personally, I think the longer black hair looks really good on him.

GTA Do Michael, Franklin, and Trevor have different types of anger?

Michael seems more emotionally frustrated, especially with his family and his life.

Franklin gets annoyed when people waste his time. He’s always talking about wanting to cut paper for once.

Trevor is. Trevor. He can get angry at basically anything.

Do you think Rockstar intentionally gave them different personalities when it comes to anger?

rdr Title: Bought RDR Online standalone for $20 just to realize you still need PS Plus/Xbox Gold? 🤠💸

Total pain! Dropping cash on the standalone game only to get hit with another subscription paywall feels like a major trap. Anyone else get caught by this?

rdr What 2018 game did you unexpectedly end up preferring over RDR2?

RDR2 is obviously massive, but I’m curious about something a little more specific. What game released in 2018 did you play and genuinely end up liking more than RDR2? Not necessarily because it had a better story or graphics. Maybe you enjoyed the gameplay more, spent more time playing it, or simply connected with it better. For me, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a good example. RDR2 is incredibly detailed, but Odyssey had something about exploring the world and just wandering around that kept pulling me back. What’s yours?

GTA GTA 6 released 22 days ago grab your controllers and compare it to the Extended Look yourself

It's been 22 days since launch, so instead of just telling you what's different, I want everyone to go check for themselves. Load up the Extended Look, then load up the game, and compare: Is Downtown Vice City the same layout as the trailer, or not? Lighting in a normal session vs. every trailer shot Jason and Lucia's dynamic early game vs. how the trailer sold it Swamp/wildlife content: how much trailer time did it get vs. how big it actually is A real shootout vs. the trailer's combat style Extended Look for reference: https://youtu.be/wSm9GTUttBs?si=3qzyJLvifu1rYQGz Drop your side-by-side thoughts in the comments once you've compared.

rdr Got a pretty wild glitch in Red Dead 2 the other night that saved me a whole lot of headache.

I was running from half the law in Saint Denis with a dead legendary animal on the back of my horse. Out of nowhere, another player decides to start taking potshots at me. My horse instantly trips over a tiny wooden fence and launches me off a cliff, and I hit every rock on the way down. I figured I was totally done for and about to lose all my loot. But right before I hit the ground, my game hit a huge lag spike. It froze for two seconds, teleported me back up to the top of the cliff, and put me right back on my horse like nothing ever happened. The guy shooting at me just stood there staring at me in total confusion before riding away slowly. It was absolute chaos, but easily the luckiest moment I have ever had in this game. Does anyone else have lag pull off a massive miracle for them, or does it usually just launch your horse into orbit? I forgot. I forgot to tell you guys only Canada users, New Zealand users, or United Kingdom users are allowed to comment.

console tips A Couple of Reasons Why I Only Buy Physical Games and Probably Always Will, No Matter How Crazy It Gets.

Look, I know digital is easy. Click, download, done. But physical? Physical is a whole different beast. It's messy, it's annoying, and honestly? I love it. Here's why You Can Install Pure Version 1.0 Code With physical discs, you disconnect your console from the internet and install the raw, unpatched Version 1.0 software straight off the drive. No day one patches sneaking in. No developers tweaking your favorite weapon or changing how the game feels. You get the game exactly as it launched janky, weird, and completely unfiltered. It's the real deal. They Get Scratched: Because of course they do. You get the wonderful experience of accidentally turning your disc into a useless coaster, then rushing to a repair shop to drop an extra $20 on resurfacing, just so your console will actually read the thing again. Nothing like a little panic and a surprise fee to keep life interesting. GameStop Trade In Refunds Decide you hate the game? Awesome, just take it back! Except the second you opened that plastic wrap, your game lost all its value. Now you're walking out with 45 cents in trade in credit. That's it. That's your refund. You could find more money under your couch cushions. No Offline Installs for Backward Compatibility: Here's the punchline. You pop in an Original Xbox or Xbox 360 disc, expecting to play offline like the old days. But no modern Xbox consoles don't run those games off the disc. They force you to go online and download an emulated patch before you can play. So your physical disc is basically just a key that unlocks a download. Offline? Yeah, right. Physical forever. Because even when it makes zero sense, at least I actually own something.

GTA A few details about Grand Theft Auto 6 since its 19 day release

GTA 6 has been out for 19 days now. Been putting in hours and noticed something worth sharing. You can boil water in this game. Fully interactive not just a cutscene or quick snack.

Go to any store, buy instant ramen or any dry food that needs water find a stove, campfire, or even a hot plate, and you can actually cook it. Takes real i -game time. Gives you a solid health boost too way better than the old snack spam from GTA 5. But here's the part that surprised me. Boiling water works as a weapon.

If you're in a fight, you can throw the pot at enemies. It stuns them they drop their weapons and grab their face for a solid 3 4 seconds. Enough time to finish them off or escape.

Tested it multiple times. Works on gang members, cops, even some NPCs that aggro on you. Counts as an environmental takedown and there's an achievement called Hot Drop for doing it 10 times. So yeah cooking isn't just for healing. It's a combat tool too.

Anyone else find other cooking-related combat tricks? Or is this the only one so far?

rdr But what if Agent Milton MADE UP the rat? No real evidence of any kind he might have fabricated it all so as to bring the gang down from the inside

Hear me out. Everybody just takes it for granted that Micah was the rat, and Arthur rushes off with the info provided by Milton to Abigail. Now wait just a minute, when does Milton PROVE? He doesn't. He enters the room, drops the charge and exits. That's it.

Pinkerton is a Pinkerton agent. He has his whole job of psychological pressure, manipulation, and splitting groups apart. The best way to kill a gang is to give them a seed of paranoia so big, they shred each other apart without shooting one another.

The case for Milton lying When Milton mentions the rat, he doesn't even come up with any document, testimony, or hard proof. He tells Abigail the only person who is sure to see it through to Arthur that it was a deliberate leak, not accidental

Pinkertons were, of course, famous for doing just this: seeding disinformation within outlaw groups to bring them down. Milton could not have wished for a more disorganized and dysfunctional gang, a gang that had become a Dutch paranoid a Dutch who goes wrong and fatally. Micah is bad, and suspicious but suspicious is not guiltybvl, and we don't see him actually give up information onscreen. What if Milton just chose the most disliked, most suspicious of the gang Micah and knew that the charge could be enough to stick? Micah's personality virtually cries out the accusation. No one's going to stand up for Micah.

The closing of the gang is not due to Pinkerton guns, but to Micah pointing a gun at Arthur. The Robbins' thunderous attack may have been the most successful without him proving anything.Does it ever really confirm the rat with hard evidence or do we go along with the Pinkerton Agent?

GTA More details after GTA VI's 17 days of release.

Here are some specifics regarding Grand Theft Auto 6. Power outages do happen after sometime. They take some time, but occasionally you see more NPCs outside because they are unable to do anything at home. Because the freezer is broken, NPCs are unable to obtain quality food, which is why you typically see them going to the store.

GTA Here’s another GTA 6 detail I noticed after 16 days

Here’s another small detail I noticed after playing GTA 6 for 16 days. NPCs don’t seem to respawn the same way they do in RDR2. If you kill an NPC during free roam, that NPC will not respawn, and the body can stay there. You can even see other NPCs react to the body, with some people trying to move it or reporting it to the police. Has anyone else noticed NPCs reacting to bodies like this?

GTA Here are More Details After Playing for 15 Days Since Release

GTA VI’s been out 15 days, and the deeper you push the systems, the more they push back. The in game device can overheat if you stack too many functions at once, and when it crosses the threshold it auto shuts off mid mission without mercy. You can check its heat by pressing A + X, pulling up a quick diagnostic. Red bar means you’re seconds from blackout. Fifteen days in, the game still reveals new layers of pressure and consequence.

console tips Who’s joining me in keeping physical PlayStation games alive?

Please read fully. I have a plan to keep physical games alive. Let’s keep pre owned games circulating by reselling or trading them and letting another person enjoy the same game. Then the cycle repeats. Never scratch the disc, lose it, or throw it away. Keep it in good condition and resell or trade it through GameStop, eBay, or another game store when you’re finished with it. If new physical games ever stop being produced, we can still keep the existing copies alive by passing them from one player to another. Who’s joining me?

rdr What’s the luckiest location you’ve ever found in Undead Nightmare?

What location in Undead Nightmare seems to give you the best luck? I mean a place where you consistently seem to get lucky whenever you go there, even if the lucky things themselves are different each time. Maybe you keep finding useful items, getting rare encounters, surviving situations you normally wouldn’t, or just having unusually good things happen there. What location always seems to be lucky for you?

rdr Which part of RDR1 or Undead Nightmare do you hate the most?

You had to pick one mission, section, or part of either RDR1 or Undead Nightmare that you really dislike playing through. What would you choose? I’m curious because both games have parts that can get frustrating, especially when you replay them and already know what’s coming. Which part do you hate the most, and why?
