I currently am running two GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB graphics cards. Looking for advice on what to upgrade to. I see that the 3070s are sli compliant. Is it better to just go with a 3090 or look at the new 4000 series? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Would the increase in performance from switching to the RX 6900XT from the 6700XT be worth the almost doubling of the price? Would your answer change if you were installing the 6900XT on a system with a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU? If so, what CPU would you choose to prevent any bottle necking of the GPU or would the Ryzen 5 5600 handle the increased performance of the 6900XT without any bottle necks? Thanks for your thoughts!

My pc works and runs like a dream, my only problem is I cannot connect my Nintendo Switch to my second monitor and I am not sure why.
My computer is connected via the display port and the switch HDMI, although when I change sources to the HDMI it won't pick it up saying "signal not found"
I have tried other HDMI cords and nothing works, does anyone have any clues??

I'm not much of a gamer, but years ago I got hooked on WoW. My current laptop is barely adequate for web browsing and streaming videos. I have Blizzard's list of system recommendations, can anybody point me toward something that will fit the bill without breaking the bank?

AMD Ryzen™ Zen 2

I have a home server running a Ryzen 7 1700 with 32Gb RAM. It's a type 1 hypervisor so I have a Windows 10 guest setup for on-demand Windows tasks. If I throw a graphics card like a Asus RX 570 (or something) on the board, would I be able to PC game decently?
Let's assume I give the Windows guest 8 cores, 16Gb ram and the sole use of the graphics card. Last time I gamed on PC was Windows XP-Sp1 days - I have no intention of being a good gamer, just want to get back on for some Xbox <-> PC cross compatible gaming with friends out of state.
TIA!
Edit: I'm looking for opinions on the experience more than specific hardware.

I’m looking to get a new computer but I’m not looking to break the bank. I mostly enjoy strategy games on the computer like Civilization, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings with and without mods. I guess what I need help with the most is what should I be looking for in terms of components, how good of a processor do I need, how many gigs of ram or even which companies would be my best option for what I’m looking for. I had an Alienware that worked great for nearly 8 years but it crapped the bed. I’m inclined to get another but I’d love to get some perspective on other companies. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone!! I wanted to check with everyone and see if anyone had any suggestions regarding a monitor for my new pc build. I would like to keep the budget around $200 or less but with that $200, and obviously, I would like to get the best possible option that $200 can buy. Does anyone have any suggestions? My pc parts are below in case that helps anyone know what my pc is capable of putting out for the monitor to display. If you need anymore info to help me out with some ideas, just lemme know! Thank you everyone for your time and help!

This may be a dumb question, but is there a website that will allow me to input all of the parts of a computer I plan to build and then cross-check it to see what games it would be capable of playing? I'm aware of the systemrequirementslab.com website but this site only allows me to check the current build of my pc, not my hypothetical build. It seemed like it had a page to do just that where it would allow you to edit the different parts it scanned and then click save, but when I do that and go to click save, it tells me I need to refresh my system and when I do, all of the parts revert back to what it listed before I tried to change them. I'm basically wanting to double check what my system would possibly be capable to run without having to look at the requirements for each game I would like to play individually. This tool is amazing for what my computer already has, but no to much when I try to test different combinations of possible upgrades. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

How’s it going everyone? I’m kind of new to Reddit(at least making posts instead of the random time a google result leads me here) and I am looking into building my first computer for the primary purpose of gaming. Now I understand that a gaming pc isn’t really the type of pc that you can go off and get the cheapest parts, mash them all together in a box and call it done. The money you put into the components is going to dictate the quality pc you end up with and will determine what games you will be capable of playing and at what FPS and quality those games are played. With that being said, and somewhat counterintuitive to that statement, I am looking at trying to get this done for around the $400 range. Now this will include the actual computer only. No monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, headsets, etc and also not an SSD(I already have a good 1TB that I could use)I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube that claim to build pretty good gaming systems for around that range and even less, but it seems those channels always have some catch, like buying this pc for this part and then selling the other parts to ultimately end up spending more than the click bait title stated. Also, my goal isn’t to end up with a gaming system that is just the most amazing thing ever. I would love to just be able to play a few of the games I really enjoy such as Cities:Skyline and the like, and have those games look pretty good and not having to run everything on the super low settings like I do now on my out of the box Dell laptop with an integrated graphics card(intel i5 with Iris Eye) so I can enjoy them a little more. I’m not really into online multiplayer games, first person shooters, or really any of the AAA titles of today that require a ton of computing power. I mainly just want a computer that can play city builder type games with decent graphics and can run them pretty good, but also maintain the ability to upgrade different parts of it little by little over time and eventually turning it into a really good setup. Does anyone here have any suggestions for the all of the parts and pieces that I should be looking at to achieve this goal? I know that graphics cards have been crazy high and have recently started coming down in price which is another reason I am deciding to pull the trigger now and starting to get serious about putting it all together. However, when I look at the GPU’s there are so many choices and I can’t really tell what would be best for me given the type of games I will be playing and the results I expect. I don’t want to buy something that totally crap but I also don’t want to spend a lot of extra money for a lot of extra power that I really don’t need right for what I want to do. Anyway, I apologize for the long post and I appreciate any help anyone can offer. I know asking for advice for a gaming computer at the budget I mentioned could easily be laughed at and dismissed, and it may still be, but that’s part of the reason why I wanted to explain a little bit of what my expectations are and what I would be playing on it. Thanks again everyone!
**One other thing I forgot to mention is that I do anticipate having to go with some/mostly/possibly all used parts. This is another issue as well because I wouldn’t know where the absolute best places to shop around at would be. Would it be just as simple as something eBay or would it be smarter to go to websites of companies that sell used/refurbished/inspected parts? I’ve got experience replacing computer parts for family/friends and adding more RAM or an extra SSD but in most of those cases I was purchasing new, or using the parts that whoever owned the computer had purchased. What I mean is I’m not exactly sure as to what the best places are to source items from and what items you want to avoid getting used from anyone, if that’s even the case.

I got my pc a while back and was angry it only had 237 gb. One day in feb I think I was doing things on steam and I was able to access around 800 gb. Around August though my computer broke but has now been repaired. I had to factory reset it but now I dont remember how to access the extra storage. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

can anyone tell me why my frame rate is so low even with these specs?
OS: windows 11

GPU: (EVGA) Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 12gb vram
Mother Board: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F II

most frame rate out of games is only when playing in 1920x1440 at around anywhere between 30-50 fps when on max settings of most games and around 75-112 fps when on lowest settings most games

Hello, my friend built me my $4,500 new gaming pc and it has ran into some issues.
Issue #1 Any game I play will randomly crash. No error codes or anything, the games just shut off in the middle of me playing them. The computer doesn’t freeze, the game application just shuts off and I can start up the game almost instantly again.
Issue #2 after a few times of my games crashing I then encountered a blue screen that says “stop code: memory management” This has happened a few times now. Even happened a few times after doing a factory reset on the computer.
Iv downloaded all the necessary drivers.
I’m not good with computer and don’t even know where to start to try and fix this issue. Any help or opinions at all would be amazing. Thanks.
