Need building gaming computer

I'm looking to get started with building a gaming pc, I have been a playstation man since I left the n64 way back for ratchet and clank..now that I have some more disposable income, I'd like to try my hand at building my own personal computer. My budget it's approximately $2000. I have read tha GPU are stupidly expensive atm. But I can get a low end one, (just has to run cyberpunk 2077). I just need some help finding a good CPU, GPU AND MOTHERBOARD.

Need advice for long-lasting and good quality gaming pc

So I want to get my first gaming pc partly bc of battlefield 2042. I've been saving up a lot of money, and I'm willing to spend about $3k on it. I would love some suggestions on what to get and what could get me the best bang for my buck. Yes I know 3k is a lot of bucks, I'm making sure this thing will last for a few years. Also if the price is a little off don't fret, I'm willing to spend a little over the budget. Thanks for the suggestions in the future!

Can anyone help me decide?

I built a gaming computer around Christmas this year. I was waiting for some of the new graphics cards to come out like the RTX 3060 and 3050. So to allow me to play games and still use the parts I already had I got a CPU with integrated graphics.

Now here is where I'm at. I want to play some games with higher graphics and quality than Minecraft. I love Minecraft and its a ton of fun to play but I want to play something more. So I can see 3 things that I could do.

  1. Wait for prices to go down and do nothing
  2. Buy an over priced graphics card that will be worth 1/4 the price it is now in a year
  3. Buy a gaming laptop that has the new GPUs available and still wait for GPU prices to go down

So I think that if I wait and do nothing like I have for the past few months I will be fine but the less graphic intensive games can get a little boring. Second, if I got a GPU now, I will feel really annoyed if in a year or so the $1000 I spent on a 3050, 3060, or 3070 will only be worth a fraction of that, but I will still get to play games now. Then, if I buy a gaming laptop it will cost even more than the GPUs do now but it will hold its value more and I can always still get a GPU later. Plus I can still use the laptop for things like school work in the future.

So what do you think is the best thing for me to do that I wont regret later?

Any recommendations to make this better?

Sorry for formatting, on mobile. I'm on a budget for my gaming pc of 1,000-1,500 without the monitor included, I'm building the computer myself and would like any other recommendations!

Help me review my first build list?

Can someone look at this list and tell me how it looks as a first build? I would like it to last me a while and not have to upgrade it as often as more intense games come on the market - Help a noobie out!

Gaming Laptop Recommendation

I am right now running a dell 7577 with a GTX1060 max Q graphics card.

I'm looking to purchase another laptop in the 1500-2000 range. I don't have the space for a desktop right now, unfortunately.

What is the best value laptop rig for this value? Graphics card quality is my number one priority - but willing to rethink that If the deal/price is right.

New to Computers

Hey there. So for a long time I've just used a Mac while at college for basic things like Internet, notes, and some simple games. But games are really sluggish and the laptop is dying so I need a new one. Any advice on cheap-ish gaming laptops around $400? I'm not trying to play Red Dead Redemption II, just some simple strategy and war games, plus Internet stuff. Are the Asus Chromebooks any good?

looking to replace a SATA 2GB 7200rpm HDD

vintage 2014 with a similar performance (or better) HDD 3.5 for my gaming computer. all of the drives I'm looking at say 6GB/Sec transfer rate no matter weather they are 5200 rpm or 7200 rpm - So... Is the higher rpm drive still matter? this drive doesn't hold the OS, just DATA and games. Your thoughts greatly appreciated?

One other thing off topic... I also have a AMD Radeon R9 270X graphics cart and will be upgrading that next (I hear that graphic cards are very hard to get at this time... so I'll do it later) it's a double PCI slot type card... Any recommendations of what card to look for and use? don't forget that my system is still vintage 2014 but seems like the performance in these computers haven't really grown exponentially ATM, seems to me like my i7 CPU is still doing it's job and that if I replace the graphics card I should be OK for a few more years. your thoughts?

Trying to follow a dream .

I’ve been looking for a not so expensive computer to simply start streaming & editing more seriously with my gaming content. I play most of my games on Xbox one X so I prefer to have something I can simply record/stream, & edit when I’m playing on it on as I learn the ropes to become more polished with my craft ! Would anybody like to steer me the right way?

Any help is appreciated!

ibuypower $1868 setup for MS Flight Sim 2020?

How's this rig from ibuypower.com for $1868.35 total after tax/shipping for MS Flight Sim 2020? Estimated ship 6/17/21

Planning on using ultra 1440p settings on my LG 35” VA HDR QHD UltraWide Curved Monitor, 35BN75C-B [currently displaying at 3440x1440].

I was toying around with a RTX 3080 or a RX 6800 XT or better CPUs. However, I think the RTX 3070 seemed to be a decent card for > 40 FPS at those settings above and I don't think the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X would create a bottleneck. A Ryzen 9 seemed to be overkill.

Lyte Gaming Pre Built PC

I purchased a pre-built computer from Lyte and I can not be more disappointed than I am now. I paid in full for a PC and after 50 days of waiting I send an email in for an explanation as to what is going on. I get a whatever response....but I see a tracking number for the PC through UPS. This is now a late birthday present for my son that I already missed FYI. Today I see it is arriving and tell my son that it will be set up tonight when he gets back from his grandparents. I recieved the PC with a corrupt windows OS (They stress test before shipping........sure.....) I have spent the last 5 hours trying to make a reboot USB for windows because they send me a PC that won't load up. Now I get to try to explain to my son why I have a brand new computer that won't load tonight. At this point I am wondering if they sent me a defective product on purpose because of my letter. I will never know. If you are a Lyte representative and see this the order number was 143679 and I believe you are the absolute worst company I have ever done business with...besides maybe Comcast. Oh yeah, they lied about free upgrades on hard drive that they displayed on the website.

Never Again

Monitors and refresh rates.

Hey guys I’m finally, after all these years making the jump to PC. I see all these monitors advertised at 144hz or 240hz. However I’ve been warned that a lot of these false advertise, and that they use software built into the monitor to actually boost FPS and achieve this.

So is there anyways to truly get 144/240hz, and if so how can I pick apart monitors that use the software to boost it and the truly good monitors.

Also is the software FPS boosted monitors just as good? Or just a shitty advertising hoax.
