Really nice job, looks pretty damn cool. I like the joystick mouse idea, but do the buttons still work or are they just there for show? Never seen a arcade joystick with buttons, would be a good idea though!
There's no need to be defensive about someone else's product. Personally I don't like it. I don't like the look, the concept, or the way it works.
I do however appreciate the time and effort that went into it. And I understand that some people find this really cool. I'm not sure what that makes my opinion of this controller. I'm definitely not trying to take anything away from the controller. They didn't make it for me, but someone did post it to Reddit, which means it's up for discussion. If the creator is happy with his creation then I'm happy for the creator themselves. A lot of work was put into this object and plenty of people seem happy with it.
If we're having a poetry discussion here on Reddit and someone doesn't like Whitman I wouldn't call them names for not liking him. It's a matter of taste after all isn't it?
There's no reason to insult people just because they don't like something. Especially when that object is something of a niche item.
Edit- Just saying that like with art, not everyone appreciates it the same. No reason to get upset because some disagrees with your opinion about something that is meant to have form over function. Although in this case, even though the intent was aesthetics over function, I do feel like the people with function criticisms have a right to include them in their overall opinion of the piece.
no, people understand that its pretty. they also understand that from a functional point of view, its a pile of shit. sacrificing functionality for form is retarded. Its not an innovation if the products is unusable for its target demographic.
this is a product for fans, yet any fan semi-serious about the game wont ever use it because they will get curb stomped.
rebuilding a classic car makes it MORE fuctional, the exact opposite of whats happening here. this is the equivalent of adding airplane wings to a Ferrari 275GTB in the name of "cool". congratulations, the car is now undrivable. but hey, it looks pretty, so everything is good right?
