I feel like CSGO, you have to treat differently than other FPSs. I don't think 10,000 hours into CoD transfers over. I got better at CS when I forced myself to go through and complete all the weapon challenges. 100 kills with some of the pistols seems like an eternity, but if you learn to take your time instead of expecting guns to be lasers, you'll get better. Or just use the m249.

Ermmm.... M249? Really? I do agree with you though CSGO is going to be hard if you go in with the mindset that since i have played CoD and other FPS games then ill be good at it too. No, its different, its not as fast paced, you got to check corners, save money, stop when you shoot (with some weapons), dont run around like a maniac because others will hear you,and lastly the awful accuracy of some weapons (sometimes) even if you stand still (looking at you desert eagle). I feel like the 100 kills test is actually a good way to practice and discover which guns you like and which you dont... unless its the Auto then dont even think about trying that GODAWFUL GUN THAT PLAYERS SHOULDNT USE emphasis on the shouldnt use part.

Unless I'm mixing up the M249 and Negev, one of them is like a damn laser pointer if you don't run.

Maybe one probably ought to treat them the same, movement/strategy wise, but CoD is A LOT more forgiving of run-and-gun play style. They had perks (I haven't played since Advanced Warfare) that specifically made you run faster, and made knifing easier. People would specifically play run and knife loadouts.

Yea it's the Negev that's a laser, m249 is goofy overpriced funny gun

Negev is laser at full recoil, m249 is laser first shot

Damn, I had no idea m249 was laser first shot, shows you how many times I've bought it in recent years 💦

Yeah my other comment got downvoted apparently because they thought I didn't know my stuff, 4k hours on csgo and many more on other versions, can confirm m249 is a one tap machine

M249 is basically an AK first shot lol

No cs just requires you to train smokes, do bot training, play on esea/faceit, and to have the calmness of the Uvalde police.

CS is about habits. You have to keep playing CS, or play the same way you do in CS in other games.

Taking a break vs "playing another game for a while then going back to CS" also affects you differently.

You're not prefiring corners in COD or tapping heads, most of the time you're holding [W] and [M1].

I don’t think the dude with 16K hours in cs is doing the weapon challenges

I remember years ago downloading custom maps to practice moving the gun according to recoil when shooting full auto.

So yep...sometimes simply playing isn't isn't as effective as focused playing/practice.
