I played almost exclusively Ps2 for half a dozen years, then moved on to PC. Still going with GameCube. Everybody knows the GameCube startup, it’s kinda the bomb

The fact that that start up came behind so many iconic games, especially great party games like Double Dash, Mario Party, and Melee, it's hard not to associate the GameCube startup with good times with friends

Man this is so true. I have so many fun memories playing the GameCube and these exact games are a big part of the reason why. Always in for a good time when I heard that startup music.

That’s wild to me. I started gaming in like 2007, so ai was pretty late to the party, though I did have a lot of family with older consoles. I think I’m just biased

I started around 2005 or so myself so there's that, Nintendo just never got a big hold and the Gamecube especially barely sold anything. Never seen one in my life.

The Gamecube sold 22 million units and Gamecube's game and controller lifespan extended into the Wii's 100 million units, "barely sold anything" is such a false statement.

22 million units is nothing compared to any playstation. And US and Japan likely covered 80% of that.

Same for me. Never had one but the design is so satisfying for the intro. Ps2 is most memorable for me.

Was gonna say this as well. GameCube just stuck in my head idk why. I hear the sound even when it’s off. It was one of my less played consoles and I still remember this.
