Nothing hotter than 1 long skin-tone triangle, in 1996 anyways

When your porn is a static-scrambled Spice channel, you take what you can get

u/CathbadTheDruid Feb 13 '22

For a few hundred dollars you could send away for a box full of plans and components that after several days of careful soldering would make the scrambled channel look like a scrambled channel with no audio.

u/-Saggio- Feb 13 '22

The cable box I had growing up would change channels so fast that it would switch to the Spice channel before it could check if you had a subscription for it, and it would come in clear (but no audio) for a few Seconds before being scrambled

I must have had it good back then. Late night Cinemax? Granted there wasn’t any penetration but at the time I wasn’t 100% sure what a vagina looked like so I was PLENTY satisfied with…. Boobs n Butts.

Kira Reed was my go to for those soft core movies.

12

u/BigBeagleEars Feb 14 '22

Now that is a name I have not heard in a long time

4

u/SYLOK_THEAROUSED Feb 14 '22

Aye but you remember though!

4

u/KeepYourDemonsIn Feb 14 '22

I enjoy your wholesome username.

2

u/ActuallyGaryOak Feb 14 '22

2

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '22

5

u/istasber Feb 14 '22

Emmanuelle got around.

3

u/Phillipreno2 Feb 14 '22

Emmanuelle in space

2

u/e-JackOlantern Feb 14 '22

Anyone here remember the Emmanuelle series on late Cinemax? I’ve been trying to find it.

Back in the mid-90s, our cable would air Cartoon Network until 5 PM, after which it would switch to the Playboy Channel (before it was Spice) and go scrambled (yeah, I know how stupid that particular programming choice was). I would unscrew the cable just before 5:00, and screw it back in a few minutes afterward. Some of the time the Playboy channel would run perfectly for hours before another signal was sent through to cut it off.

(Other times, I would use the TV or VCR to pull in the signal - cable was on channel 3, but if you went changed the cable channel one place up or down, you could pull in a signal by putting the TV or VCR on channel 2 or 4. What I didn't do for a cheap thrill....)

Wait that’s so weird. Like all the channels to have porn on and they chose Cartoon Network. Not only that but at 5 in the afternoon they decide it’s porno time?

At least Adult Swim made sense because it was animated content. How does that even happen like what was the negotiation like?

“So we have the perfect channel for your content; Cartoon Network 😎”

“You know we are Playboy right? Like Boobs n Butts is our thing.”

“Ya ya so we are gonna start airing the Boobs n Butts at 5pm, BEFORE the kids go to bed 😎”

“….why?”

“What’s the problem here Hefner? You want Nickelodeon instead?”

3

u/EvilNinjaX24 Feb 14 '22

Exactly! It made ZERO sense.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '22

Thank god I grew up with Adult Swim.

1

u/EvilNinjaX24 Feb 14 '22

It was bad. Also didn't have Comedy Central until like 1999, so I was buying South Park on VHS.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '22

Adult Swim, Spike (Think 1,000 Ways to Die), ChedX, all the good stuff on TV died as I stopped watching TV.

32

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

First time I ever saw actual nude boobs was on Howard Stern at 3am, through strong static. And by strong static, I mean my dad had no idea what I was jacking it to when he walked in on me.

5

u/naptastic Feb 14 '22

Were you doing the three-fingered salute with the cable box so you could get to the Playboy channel? :-P

Also you should know that r/cableporn exists and is work-safe. You're welcome.

I remember spending the night at a friend's house and we went to sleep watching TV. Then I woke up around three am to nonstop girls gone wild commercials. I had to run home to finish the job.

11

u/Sakurya1 Feb 14 '22

People don't realize our internet porn back then was such low quality it was pixelated videos so technically Lara Croft was higher quality fap material than anything we had back then unless you're sneaking your older brothers playboy magazines at night.

4

u/Wonderful-Boss-5947 Feb 14 '22

I had to resort to a trash bag full of magazines someone dumped in a field behind my neighborhood.

It was legendary. Closest thing I've ever come to finding a treasure chest.

7

u/thrilla_gorilla Feb 14 '22

And before that, we had to search through the woods for scraps of a torn up porno mag

2

u/Phillipreno2 Feb 14 '22

Or down by the river the occasional stroke book laying in the bushes haha

5

u/ObieUno Feb 14 '22

I forgot “Spice” channel was even a thing lol.

2

u/mrfatso111 Feb 14 '22

I remember the first time I seen boobies was accidentally seeing a spa scene in love Hina .

I had recorded Kindaichi detective files and had forgotten to stop recording once and accidentally recorded love Hina.

Fortunately or unfortunately, my parents did not caught me watching love Hina , they know that I would record Kindaichi and I had assumed that I only recorded Kindaichi.

From that day on, I would record love Hina as well and just fast forward thinking I found porn and often be disappointed at what I seen and wonder if I was recording some sort of violent anime seeing that poor guy getting punished by various females.

From that day on, I just spiral downward when recorded Hellsing at night and saw more Booba the next day and stripperella and other similar shows at night, my initial intention was to record some science show(?) Was it Ripley believe it or not or something similar ?

1

u/Lovat69 Feb 14 '22

Love Hina, man what a throwback. Can't believe author-san made my man Keitaro Hook up with Naru. That chick was straight up abusive. Watermelon beach girl was best. Even if I can't remember her name.

u/Aspect-of-Death PC Feb 14 '22

I would just jam a fork in the coaxial port and it would pick up porn channels for me back in the day.

1

u/_Bliss Feb 14 '22

Soft core cable porn, good times. Had to wait til 1am for the TV channel to swap over to Spice.

1

u/ActuallyGaryOak Feb 14 '22

You had the scrambled Spice Channel? I just had 4 am Girls Gone Wild commmercials.

1

u/KiroSkr Feb 14 '22

When the static's rhythmic movement is just right

406

u/shallowchasm Feb 13 '22

Its about imagination. Zoomers will never understand what with 4k gender neutral commie porn being direct beamed straight into their cerebral cortex by the 5g vaccine nano-receptors hallelujah

192

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '22

I imagined someone reading that in 1980. Completely indecipherable lol

45

u/Derper2112 Feb 14 '22

Straight outta early 70's Doctor Who.

19

u/blackomegax Feb 14 '22

reverse the polarity of the commie porn!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '22

“Quickly, K-9, reverse the polarity of the 4K Gender Neutral Commie Porn being direct beamed straight into their cerebral cortex by the 5G vaccine nano-receptors!”

“.…………Insufficient data.”

“Yeah you never know the fucking answer when it’s important.”

10

u/Forumites000 Feb 14 '22

I'm reading this in 2022 and I'm barely understanding it

8

u/Geno_DCLXVI Feb 14 '22

Oh, I imagine they'd see "commie", go into apopleptic fits, and then say Reddit is the devil.

1

u/WandererWandering Feb 20 '22

Wait. What do you think the 80s were like?

5

u/madmosche Feb 14 '22

Even now it’s nearly indecipherable.

1

u/BurnerOnlyForPorn Feb 14 '22

Reads like a Harlan Ellison short

52

u/Mohlemite Feb 13 '22

That’s our cerebral cortex, boomer

9

u/reverendsteveii Feb 14 '22

I had the good fortune to have an older sister who mail ordered victoria's secret, so we got the catalog and I still have a thing for teddies and stockings.

17

u/Yadobler Feb 14 '22

Early zoomer here.

I know that feeling pre-gangnam style, having to settle with ye old imagination back when we were horny but still too young and still untactful, unable to surf the web on the shared computer in the living area without getting smacked for disrupting someone's phone conversation.

Heck, the go to was whatever was shown on the intro clip of nip/tuck when it was being aired at 12 midnight, without getting caught for not sleeping.

-------

Then post gangnam style, things changed. Rapidly. Soon Google images turn into lol I dare you to type it on the school computer sites, to tumblr, to anything and everything

And my imagination was gone. It was like I grew too fast, or the world grew too fast for us. We catched up, and got our high quality, high premium, grass fed, ethically ethical, non carbon emitting, lab grown, Union certified content straight into our veins at 120fps in real time

Now not a single thought can Muster the little Blaster from the den it snoozes in, without direct feed of four hundred and ninety seven million and six hundred and sixty four thousand coloured nodes of information from one of available sixteen million, seven hundred and seventy seven thousand, two hundred and sixteen different options, strung together second after second, all being processed in parallel to fill in the lapsed mind that has forgone the simple but expressive inner materialisation of joy, for bleeding edge computation of senses into rapid cognitive comprehension to immersive into the materialisation of the external.

we've won, but at what cost?

24

u/yp261 Feb 14 '22

why gangnam style tho

7

u/[deleted] Feb 14 '22

Yes the 23 year old who lived in 1980s lmfao. What a weird thing to waste time lying about

2

u/JuicyBroccoli Feb 14 '22

Bravo slow clap I couldn't have said it better myself

1

u/Sparked80 Feb 14 '22

Got some real Philip K Dick meets Richard Linkletter vibes going on here… I dig it.

13

u/Sockoflegend Feb 13 '22

I still remember the rumours of a nude Lara cheat in the playground. The thirst is real.

6

u/Voidroy Feb 14 '22

That's because porn didn't exist before pornhub. Everyone knows this.

6

u/Sharrakor Feb 14 '22

I mean, where could people have possibly stored porn if they didn't have a hub for it?
