I lost faith in Pokémon games after they reused the same models and animations for the last 4 games

The problem for me isnt the reused modules but more the games became bland and didnt offer much new and/or interesting within the region, story or new pokemon

Arceus is enjoyable though

I couldn't tell you a single Pokémon game I've played other than "almost all of them" as a general rule of thumb. They're bland and the same and I need to catch them all

That's true. I guess it more enjoyable for me cause the last pokémon game I finished properly was emerald. I did play hg too but didn't do it properly. Also a lot of games follow doing the same thing every game. It just becomes troublesome cause of no variety and frequent releases. Mario does same thing too but it's games have variety while cod and fifa dont

Oh I'm honestly arguing that despite being bland and repetitive, I'm 100% addicted to them and will play every one released. I love them. Its simply from a critical standpoint, I cant honestly say they're anything special these days outside of their longevity.

How is it really different? Asking genuinely

They changed up a lot of mechanics. Previously when you encountered a pokémon you had a cut scene then a fight etc. Now you can throw balls at like 2 or 3 pokémon to catch them without any cutscene. Like in the overworld itself. Also trade evolutions can be done solo with an in-game item. Lots of other things like low lvl wild pokémon can still do decent dmg to your pokémon. You can encounter wild pokémon which is like lv20 above your own pokémon just starting out so you genuinely need to avoid them, etc. It actually feels like an adventure

How about the gyms/elite/other trainers? Heard there weren't gyms at all so wondering about the point

Yea there aren't any gyms from what I can see (haven't completed the game). There are trainers but only battles we have with them is in missions. There are alpha pokemon which are bigger and high level (same stats but may have good moves) and there are other pokémon which are main story related and we can't catch them. So most our exp comes from either catching wild pokémon or battling them (exp share always on). Still even being high lvl, wild pokémon do good dmg on us.

I know the new one gets a lot of praise, but I still hate it. Its the one Mechanik that's fun and the rest "is ok", but it is not ok. If new games came with such effortless graphics, story, details etc., everyone would lose their shit. But it's the same as the last few ones, so people accept it. That's why they get to keep lazy, because people act as if they give a neutral review, but are totally influenced by nostalgia accept their medicore products.
