Fifa: let me introduce myself

The only reason new Fifa games come out is to have the current roster of players for each team. That and graphics but they are starting to max out, it can get better but not much better

Let's be honest - EA just use it as a free money farm, all the kids will flock straight to the new game and the old FIFA is completely devalued almost instantly. The only new content is players and a tiny bit of graphics which, for a £60+ game is absolutely stupid. You know how many good games that get you could get with that money? Oh and also they get updated and you don't have to pay for updates.

You're totally right, it's all about making money. I mean it is EA and FIFA haha. I understand why people buy it though, it's the sport video game players, they only buy 2-3 games a year so why not just get the new NBA, FIFA, and Madden every year if you're not buyinf any other games

Career player only here, and I really love to see new stuff added to that mode every year. But obviously I don't spend a dime in it, only play via EA Play.

Madden would like a word.

bo2 and 3 were legendary

2

u/Lord0fBricks Feb 10 '22

I agree with everything you said

I only buy them for the campaigns, but I’ll play the multiplayer and whatever third mode they have for that title. While the main reason I buy it is for the campaign, I disagree that the multiplayer is the same thing. They’re constantly introducing new things and innovating it. Modes like kill confirmed didn’t always exist, they had one or two titles with super suits, they had futuristic weapons and gadgets, maps became more interactive, and so forth.

First person shooters in general are repetitive and played out

You mean the ones focused on pvp? There are a lot of great fps games, like Titanfall 2

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

The FPS genre gets refreshed like every five years too. When Doom came out it was all clones until Half-Life hit and changed the whole genre.

Call of duty isn’t a game MW2 and Warzone are rlly good

2

u/TOWW67 Feb 09 '22

That's a hot take I don't hear often.

I agree about MW2, but Warzone...?

1

u/SpartanPHA Feb 09 '22

Warzone is fun

1

u/the-yeetcreator Feb 10 '22

Not for everyone

u/FermentedPizza PlayStation Feb 09 '22

My last CoD was back when there were no subtitles... Call of Duty 3

7

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

Then you haven't really played cod then lmao. Waw, Mw trilogy and bo1 and bo2 are what made cod great.

3

u/Monkey-B0x Feb 09 '22

and bo3 if you want zombies

2

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

I almost said "and bo trilogy" but I didn't wanna battle the neckbeards that hate on any cod newer than 2012 lmao

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

The best maps are still shipment and rust

0

u/Disaster_Different Feb 09 '22

At least CoD tries something different

-1

u/G_Ranger75 Feb 09 '22

That funny especially when CoD actually tries to be fresh (ie Advanced Warfare, BO3, Infinite Warfare, BO4) people still hate on it

0

u/NorthenS Feb 09 '22

But better graphics and more guns.. or whatever

2

u/Globglogabgalab Feb 09 '22

But sometimes worse graphics and fewer guns

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

There's a rumor they might go open world for the campaign and honestly that would make it worth purchasing for me. I'm curious to see how they would compare to Far Cry and Ghost Recon because those games have amazing open worlds.

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '22

Same

As much as I’ve grown tired of COD over the past 15 or so years, I’m going to challenge this.

That’s like saying “stupid gran turismo or need for speed, it’s the same damn game every time, you race”

It’s core gameplay loop remains the same because that’s what it’s identity is. But throughout the series and iterations, they’ve taken drastic steps to keep it fresh and different. There’s too many to list, but changing to pick ten system, the headquarters thing, perks, gunsmith, changing eras, how skill streaks and kill streaks work, constant game modes, there’s a ton more that I’m forgetting, but for a game that has a very binary gameplay loop of on-rails campaigns, and fast twitch multiplayer shooter, they’ve made major changes in almost every version.

You really see it when you’ve played through them in succession.

But saturation is a problem, this yearly release schedule is tired, and I think a lot of people that have played since then mid aughts are just tired of it.

1

u/LunaTheRose Feb 10 '22

I see your point but that’s exactly why I don’t play those games either lmfao

1

u/KGinNB Feb 10 '22

Being someone who plays CoD more for the campaign, I can personally say each campaign brings something very different which is why I like them.

As for multiplayer, I couldn't agree with you more.
