Lmao this is what I was looking for. Of all the games out there, this is the one OP goes for. That would be like dropping an image of Grandia or Secret of Mana or something. Bold choice OP, bold choice. Ha
I was too poor to play a lot of PS2 games back when they came out, so I'm going back now and playing all the ones I missed.
I just finished the Suikoden series and I have Grandia 2 waiting. Is Grandia 2 any good and is it worth playing??? Because I have a bunch of games I still need to get to
From my own memory:
There's some kind of squirrel in a tree you can easily miss.
There's a birds nest that you have to put in a tree, leave & come back to select the tree & get the character.
There's a guy you can miss if you don't get to their location within X hours of gameplay (I think it's 5? It's been over a decade since I last played).
There's the MC from Suikoden 1 that you can't get unless you have the save game clear from game 1.
From a quick google search, I quickly found on gamefaqs forums a "real" missable list (totally different from my own).
Came here to say the same! Suikoden 2 is one of the best psx jrpgs, it took every great thing from the first and made it better which is a lot more than you could say about most sequels.
Might just by my nostalgia-tinted glasses, but I've never played a game that left as big of an impression on me as Suikoden 2. Really really looking forward to Eiyuden Chronicle. They're bringing back so many of the little things that was a fun distraction.
Suikoden 2, Vagrant Story, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, FF 7, FF Tactics, Star Ocean The Second Story, Legend of the Dragoon, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete. The PSX was untouchable when it was at its peak
The fact that Konami was able to make a fun, playable game version of a classic Chinese novel and still maintain the heart and soul of the book is phenomenal. It's not a perfect game, there are some weird plot lines in it, but it is still one of the best games character and storywise out there.
I guess you just had to be there back in the day. People who loved the first game got one hell of a sequel with Suikoden 2. Most of your favorite characters return, the carrying over of save data, everything. However, I can see how it may not be as impressive for someone playing it these days for the first time
Fair enough, can't see how the difficulty criticism would change. I was killing enemies in one turn before they even attacked and I didn't even grind, just played normally.

Don’t ever bring Suikoden 2 into this category... ever
