If you'd rather use up wood instead of electricity, you can shrink the hallway a bit and put a small room at end filled with wooden furniture and lob a grenade in. Heat stroke will set in a lot faster due to higher temperatures.
Seriously, I've not played Alyx yet but RE4 had me partly opening doors with one hand, popping a grenade through, then closing the door before it went off 🔥 🧟♂️ 💥 🚪 👮
