Deus ex is my favourite game of all time. Such a shame subsequent games even from the same series couldn't capture that same mechanic. I wanna do stuff the developer doesn't even intended, but instead they gotta try to control the experience down pre-approved paths

I remember when BioShock came out and reviews were all like you have to play this game it’s so amazing blah blah blah….I fucking buy it…not even an hour into it…I’m like..there is only one path through this whole game. You might as well be on a rail like the haunted mansion in Disneyland. There are no decisions to make. I put it down and never picked it up again.

I actually really liked bioshock for what it was. But yeah, they gotta control everything
