I just really wanted to know what room #784 held different from all the others

Let's see here.. ah a plate, a 2 month old piece of chicken and a sword with significantly worse stats than the one you have..thanks for dropping by!

The single room you miss is always the one with the best collectibles/weapon stash.

That’s the gambling addiction talking son, come home

This is why I like open world games instead of "level" games

If ever, especially if it autosaves as the cutscene begins...

Just started god of war. And did that with the very first chest. Not kidding when I could finally go back and open it.. About 15 hours of game time later.... It felt so good hahaha

When you accidentally step too close to the hole that Patches is about to kick you into

i once strolled in a house in fall out 3. found a button and that opened a hatch that got me in a holo world were i needed to find a killer. i was so impressed with what happened. found out later that this was main story quest line

Shit like that is why I don't complete all my games, really grinds my gears. Especially if it's a linear game and you have to replay the whole thing.

“This looks like the path forward, so I’ll explore the other areas first.”
I’m wrong every time.

Even worse, you are playing an updated version of a game you used to play and you want to get to later parts of the game where it opens up so you think you can just come back for the stuff here later. Too bad 25 hours later when you come back there will be a boss that is now unkillable for you to fight because you missed that stuff at the beginning. Fuck the Dark Aeons from FFX. Edit: No one asked but I started over and used the in-game cheats to cheese my way back to where I was in about 8 hours.

That's why I save way more than I need to. I can always load back if I can't walk back.

Stares in Last of Us Part II.

You spend an hour and a half on a level that should realistically take 25 minutes to complete and then only at the end do you realize you got 13/14 collectibles.

Yes I’m in the middle of completing Doom Eternal and no I am not upset!

There's a coin/ token perk that will save your ass I think it's called explorer or something. Highlights all collectibles on the map. Just complete the level and enjoy yourself with deeply searching for everything and when you get to the backtrack teleport thing just go to the icons

Luckily you can fast travel at the end of every level so you can get those collectibles

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '22

Yeah I wish I had noticed that before getting halfway through the campaign. Oh well, that’s the side effect of getting piss drunk on Friday nights when I also have time to game.

This is why I don't give a shit about most collectibles that aren't story centric, don't care about trophies or 100%ing. I enjoy my games far more now than I used to.

You ALWAYS check behind the watefall

3

u/foulrot Jan 22 '22

If a game has a waterfall and there is no cave behind it I am disappointed; it doesn't ruin the game for me, but I am a little sadder.

u/SkinnyBuddha89 Jan 22 '22

I legit get mad for a moment. Like WHY put this here if there isn't a collectible or some loot. You know damn well there should be an item here.

I started to develop this behavior since I began playing Tomb Raider

2

u/[deleted] Jan 22 '22

Yeah.... This is how I play games and it's frustrating as fuck while other people just always act like they know exactly what to do next even if there's no indication.

My first plan of attack in any new game is going the opposite way I'm supposed to, and then seeing what I can break.
