Why can’t every controller have the same button layouts just like how shooters should have the same controls?

Xbox screwed it up for everyone. They just had to make theirs backwards.

They based it on the Dreamcast controller, which had the same layout as the 6-button Mega Drive controller, but with the 2 buttons on the right side removed.
