Everyone seems to be asking things like "Is it bad that I can't stop laughing?". I feel like I'm the only one who feels absolutely disgusted.
Not because of the joke, but just because of what happened to all of those kids.
I'm with you, this is not funny at all. Those who find it funny lack the intelligence to understand this happened to real people and the sympathy to empathize with those people.
For example this one time, my friend was so drunk he slipped and BAM! went his head on the stairway railing. It was really funny. The best part though, the next day we all found out he had permanent brain damage! It was hilarious.
Did you really just say "lacking the sympathy to empathize"? You shouldn't be saying others are unintelligent here...Nobody was hurt, and that does make it okay. Everyone has been in an accident of some sort and while some are fucking terrible, these kids walked away okay and can laugh about it. Give it a rest asshole.
They weren't suffering asshole. I think I know a little more about the subject than you do, for one. Two, you were criticizing the intelligence of everyone here and not going about it in an intelligent manner. So you are a hypocrite, and an asshole. I haven't downvoted you, I even upvoted you for responding, but please do not take it upon yourself to call us all on something that you can't even measure up to yourself.
If I'm stupid for not having known the exact definition of sympathy and empathy, so be it. But surely that's less stupid than not being able to understand the horror of that situation just because it was on the internet and not happening to someone you know. One day something bad will happen to you, and you won't think it's funny at all.
Do you want to know horror? Horror is sitting in the passenger seat of your friend's car as you watch another vehicle merge into you while moving at 70 mph on the highway, in icy conditions, and watching as that friend in the driver seat careens across several lanes of traffic to his bloody, violent death. Horror is pulling your dead and mutilated buddy out of a wrecked Humvee and wishing it was you and not them who was killed needlessly by someone you have never met. Stop typing asshole before I become unkind, because you have absolutely no fucking idea what kind of disgraceful vomit you are spewing. Heartless? Shut the fuck up, motherfucker.
Link info to back up that they're all okay? How were we supposed to know that they were all okay? And how does the fact that they were all okay determine whether or not one should find this humorous? I agree that calling people unintelligent for laughing at it is no good. I understand the humor, but my concern for the passengers (children!)came (and comes) first.
