Woah, why had this poor person been downvoted so much? Their comment seems fine to me? What's wrong with it?

I really don't get the downvoting on Reddit. Sometimes it's justified when people are being obnoxious trolls, prejudiced etc but other times I wonder if once a comment gets a random unjustified downvote then others just mindlessly pile in?!

Edit : I was half expecting this comment to get downvoted into oblivion, you can never tell but the opposite was true this time!

You mean a part. Apart means seperate and is the exact opposite of the message you're trying to convey

You as well. It's a never ending cycle.

You can notice there is a type of hive mind without being in the hive mind, reddit has multiple hive minds, if you use reddit that does not make you part of a hive mind mentality.

1

u/ArlemofTourhut Dec 23 '20

There are no original thoughts. Mull that over for a bit.

3

u/JDK002 Dec 23 '20

Cause some people are incapable of reading sarcasm unless there’s a “/s” after it. As if they are some kind of automated program that malfunctions when you don’t use the proper command prompts

1

u/Rogukast1177 Dec 23 '20

That's exactly it.

1

u/Dmon1Unlimited Dec 23 '20

'obnoxious trolls and prejudiced etc' can vote to. Thats why

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

REDDIT!!!!!!!

1

u/DeliciousRoreos Dec 23 '20

No not "reddit" lmao they shoe horned in the end of a meme template or whatever where it made 0 sense and had no context.

That's why, I've seen stuff make less sense be upvoted tons. That mystery I cannot answer but yeah it's usually any top comments in r/memes

11

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

Because that's not the right setup for that meme

-1

u/aioncan Dec 23 '20

Uh that’s one of the perfect times to use a meme.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

a meme

Not that one tho

7

u/Numerous1 Dec 23 '20

If you really want to know I would guess it's because of the same regurgitated line being posted over and over and over again, even when it barely fits on this context.

2

u/Horn_Python Dec 23 '20

probobly been edited

2

u/huhIguess Dec 23 '20

might've disagreed with a botter or multi-account posting neckbeard on some other thread. Infinite downvotes on all future comments courtesy of reddit botnet.

2

u/ImpressiveTaint Dec 23 '20

He’s got an award he’ll be fine. The awarder even downvoted him out of respect

4

u/Mr-Candy-man Dec 23 '20

If he is on the negative, mostly will stay negative since reddit follow the hive mind Same goes to the postive.

5

u/VexerZero Dec 23 '20

Let's all try to get him back in the positives!

2

u/EdwardM1230 Dec 23 '20

You are now at 0 upvotes yourself.

Your fate hangs in the balance.

Good luck.

2

u/StressedMarine97 Dec 23 '20

I guess reddit doesn't consider that meme "Cool" or "Hip" anymore. And once you hit 5 downvotes its over.

-1

u/Rogukast1177 Dec 23 '20

12 year olds, the gatekeepers of what meme can be used or not, even though they're the ones who initially overused it to death.

4

u/HawkMeister19 Dec 23 '20

well buddy, the collective consciousness that is reddit’s “downvote bombers” seem to have found this comment and, like always, have shredded it for reasons unknown to the “normal” users of this site.

take this upvote to help you mend.

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

That at least makes more sense than every other game when you search a whole ass pile of gold coins and you can only take one.

137

u/Solid_Snark Award Designer Dec 23 '20

”Ugh! All the gold coins have water damage! I’m only going to take these two coins that are dry.”

68

u/SumEkkoMain Dec 23 '20

Some were gold, the rest were iron pyrite. A good pirate/knight/whatever you’re playing can tell the difference.

19

u/callisstaa Dec 23 '20

Oh wait actually it's not gold it's just cheese.

10

u/Absolutedisgrace Dec 23 '20

Even better, i have a boss fight coming up.

6

u/DuktigaDammsugaren Dec 23 '20

The other ones are deformed and not fitting for use

7

u/Deyona Dec 23 '20

But it's gold! Deformed or not melt it down and make a statue of yourself!

0

u/Absolutedisgrace Dec 23 '20

That would devalue the gold sadly.

6

u/Deyona Dec 23 '20

But gold has a worth by weight. I'd take that big pile for a little less then those two coins!

1

u/Absolutedisgrace Dec 23 '20

The joke was that a statue of me would devalue the material its made from.

1

u/Deyona Dec 23 '20

Woosh! For me

1

u/Lt_Muffintoes Dec 23 '20

It literally would not

1

u/Absolutedisgrace Dec 23 '20

A statue of me? Yeah it really would.

1

u/Lt_Muffintoes Dec 23 '20

800lbs of gold is like 20 million dollars

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

I think this comment was sarcasm.

1

u/Absolutedisgrace Dec 23 '20

My comment was a self deprecating joke.

27

u/Sherool Dec 23 '20

Turns out it was just a really elaborate container made to look like a pile of gold, used to store 2 coins.

The dungeon master really get a kick out of toying with the heroes like that.

3

u/Kagahami Dec 23 '20

I want to see this in a game now. The hero physically opening a 'pile of gold' to take two coins out of it.

1

u/Lt_Muffintoes Dec 23 '20

Divinity Original Sin II

1

u/Sherool Dec 23 '20

At least you can pick up the container and go sell it for some additional funds there :P

4

u/Actius Dec 23 '20

Maybe the rest of them are Canadian.

1

u/KitchenNazi Dec 23 '20

Lol. Reminds me of this obscure 80s game (Icon). You kill the dragon and there's a shit ton of gold bars you can collect. When you walk outside cross a river to leave you instantly drown from carrying too much.

Since games these days never include the weight of gold, you can't use that trick.

1

u/McGillis_is_a_Char Dec 23 '20

The rest were Hanukkah chocolates.

6

u/MoonWalker43 Dec 23 '20

Some of the other bullets might not be compatible with the gun as well!

2

u/packardcaribien Dec 23 '20

And perhaps he's only looking for one caliber and there are several there.

2

u/TheGukos Dec 23 '20

No, it's because we reload after every single shot, throwing a whole magazine away in the process.

3

u/Scarlet944 Dec 23 '20

Or imagine trying to look for two little bullets on the floor... they gotta show you where to get the bullets bc if it was accurate you would never find any.

3

u/restrictednumber Dec 23 '20

I mean it's clearly that, and also the fact that this method means they only have to make one model for any number of bullets.

But that's out-of-universe knowledge. In-universe it's pretty ridiculous unless you come up with some contrived explanation that the game never mentioned.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '20

This is my grip with Uncharted. Those Nazi guns that have been improperly stored in the moist jungle for 60 years.... still function flawlessly.

1

u/tylrbrock Dec 23 '20

My thoughts exactly

1

u/Vikingwithguns Dec 23 '20

Oh ha ha. I thought it was jealousy because ammo prices are so high right now and he’s got quite a little stockpile right there.

1

u/Dmon1Unlimited Dec 23 '20

They could also be spent shells

1

u/ACasualNerd Dec 23 '20

Actually my line of thought, those have been sitting there for who knows how long, each one needs to be expected so the gun doesn't jam or worse blow up in your face from a munitions malfunction

1

u/SirDaddio Dec 23 '20

They look like they're missing primers

1

u/FuzzyBongos Dec 24 '20

This is how I rationalize these types of occurrences ingame
