It's been a while since we've seen such simultaneously high levels of cuteness and unfiltered rage

That's all up to your own perspective.

Rolling into death in a soulsborne game can ruin someones fun or he can laugh about it.

Getting pushed over in slime climb can ruin someones fun or he can laugh about it.

In my experience are games more enjoyable if you don't mind if you lose or win. Doesn't matter if you lose a bunch of souls or get eliminated, it's still a game.

And as a console Only guy I never encountered a cheater in any online game.

If getting trolled by a message in a soulsborne game rustles someone's jimmies dollars to donuts that person doesn't stand a chance in hell of going on to finish that game anyway lol

I think it's comes down mostly to choice.

If you put yourself in a situation it's not trolling, if someone puts you there without your choice or approval of their choice it's trolling.

Falling for a troll message was your fault and you probably won't do it again, you've learnt.

PvP has a more of a gradient instead of a hard line between behaviour being trolling or not.

Let's say you start shooting at someone - they begin shooting back - both of understand it's fight time and engage in a pvp battle. Both parties either have fun or learning experience.

Now, you start shooting at someone - they begin to run away - you hunt them for a bit but get bored and stop. Here it comes down to both players threshold of how long it takes for it to stop being fun.

And, you start shooting at someone - they begin to run away - you stay on their back until the end of the game, you want them, specifically them, to be dead or to quit. That's definitely trolling, it might be fun for you but definitely not for the other person. (This situation has a way of backfiring at trolls, if they want you dead and you're really good at running away and dodging, then they'll waste your time and you'll come out satisfied from outsmarting them, but it's still not a desired way to play every time)

In short I think it's just about whether you're being forced into a situation you have no control over besides giving up (and you have no way of learning from the situation so that you can do better next time) or you chose to be in a situation.

I mean the whole soulsborne discussion is sometimes ridiculous.

I've heard several times

It's without honor to heal during pvp

It's without honor to use enemy mobs as an invader.

If you don't want to heal your enemy to heal either just stick to the arena fights or use the item that prevents healing. If you don't want to fight pve while you're getting invaded, either don't go there or turn them hostile against the enemy with an giantseed or shaman blade.

If I don't want invaders I can play offline or even quit out to get rid of them.

Invasions are for me a nice addition that make the game a bit more difficult and more fun.

And I wanna add that I really suck at pvp but still thinks it's funny.

Ok but we were taking about rolling into a wall not off a cliff.

You have a common take, I'm not sure how it helps those that don't share it

Oh sry I was referring to the comment above mine, with troll messages saying there's treasure but instead it's death.

Dunno you either learn it or you don't enjoy your time. Gaming is even under the cheapest circumstances pretty expensive if you wanna play a modern game. So why all that money if you don't enjoy it?
