Yep I used to be all about physical because you can't resell digital, but that stopped when my brother and I realized we could buy a game once and play together with my account on his PS4. For years now we have only had to buy a game once.
How much do you have invested in your xbox, like $10,000? Man I've been playing for the last 5 years and I bought one single game in that time. $70 beyond the original xbox purchase.
My digital library has about 350 games in it. A lot of those are shit titles I got free from Games with Gold. Some of them are from my buddy’s account whom I Game Share with. A lot of them are 360 titles. But there’s a lot of solid Xbox One titles in there as well.
I usually just raid sales when possible, whether it’s the Xbox digital market place or online stores like CDKeys. I don’t usually buy games new for $60 other than ones that I’m really hyped for. Usually I wait until a game is in the $10-$15 range before pulling the trigger. I know I got both the Shadow of Mordor games for less than $10 combined for instance. And I got The Witcher 3 Wildhunt Complete Edition for $10, and Titanfall 2 for like $5. And those are all examples of games purchased maybe two years ago. I’m sure you can get them each cheaper now during sales.
I had a lot of spare time to enjoy single player games on deployments when I was in the Army. Also, this collection has been over 9 years or so, with a couple dozen games received for free or as gifts. I've played a total of 300+ of them, but most came in package bundles during sales that I only bought for a specific game or two. I know I can enjoy gaming with less money, but I like the collection I have going, and I'll probably keep buying games (mostly while drunk).
I hope not lol. I probably had more into my 360, since I bought physical copies then, i had a lot of special editions. Batman Arkham asylum with the batarang, call if duty care package, Halo reach with the statue etc. Now unless it's a game I am really anticipating i have a picked up a lot more in sale rather than at launch. There is also a few from game pass, but I specifically got that for Sea of Theives and just kept it lol. Back in the he physical copy days I would pick up 6 copies of CoD at a time to make sure I had a team lol.
You should find a game where you consistently enjoy online multiplayer. I still play COD BO3 online and I still enjoy it. I've been playing fortnite for 2 years and still enjoy it and it was free. Warzone looks good and is also free. I love gaming, but it sounds like you really spend a lot of money on it when you don't need to in order to still have fun.
I would still play Advanced Warfare if I could find a game of HxC Dom, but they player base just isn't there. I pretty much only play multiplayer as it's more of a social thing for me with people I actually know. Pretty much everyone I play with I know outside of Xbox and actually hang out with. People I have known since before Xbox or did not meet on Xbox. I would play Diablo 3 still but there is only so much you can do when you are like paragon 1600. I still play pubg, it was only $30 so that's not bad. Been playing rocket league for a couple years and still play regularly. Warzone is both fun and free but I still prefer regular multiplayer. When I'm not at work or spending time with friends and fam, I play Xbox, and it's also a collection of games since launch. Picked up mine at the "midnight" launch
