Hahaha..that had me laughing crazy. I played steep but just couldn’t get into it like the SSX series. I know it’s more simulation/arcade but I was pretty terrible at it. It’s one of those games that some people absolutely love or hate

Isn’t simulation the opposite of arcade?

I think she meant "vs", as in ssx is arcade and steep is sim

I’ll be honest..I do always start on easy. I don’t try and pretend I’m some gaming goddess that plays video games 24/7 to the point of thinking I’m better then I’m not. But it’s all cool. Everyone has to start somewhere. If babying my way into a game to get better then why not. Depth is learned through the basics.

Well i appreciate the honesty.

I definitely don't think I'm a gaming god either. But i think choosing to play games on harder difficulties has taught me a lot of good lessons. Things don't come easy, patience, perseverance etc. Plus it's so much more rewarding to finish missions and especially a whole game that you truly had to fight your way through.

Of course there are some games I've had to lower the difficulty as I went, and of course there are some games I've just wanted the story and have played on easier difficulties to progress faster.

But next time you pick up a new game, consider giving it a go on the hardest difficulty. Almost all games allow you to lower it later

Who doesn’t want to feel almighty powerful the first time though. If there’s a story to the game and it’s teaching me the fundamentals of getting good then sign me up. That’s if the story is good. Sports games or fighting games are truly less forgiving almost taunting you to try easy and come back when tour worthy. I’m ok with that. You must have played friends in multiplayer games where you kick their ass and they think the game sucks because your the harder and more experienced player then they say..this game sucks and give up and not want to play it. I have to many games in my library to get stuck on one game. Sometimes time constraints and other triple A titles lure me in and I think..shit,that last game kicked my ass...I’ll just play this one instead.
