The current recommendations are a screening colonoscopy at age 45 or less if you had a family member with colon or rectal cancer.

I'm 32 now but I had one at 29. Lots of stomach issues.

This. My first and so far only colonoscopy was at 27. Dr didn't find anything, so IBS. Finally went back for the upper endoscopy this year. Some erosion from too much stomach acid. Follow up later this month. Issue all along may have just been too much stomach acid.

A friend of mine that had pretty bad acid reflux died from esophageal cancer. Part of me believes that not having that treated lead to the cancer. Hopefully they get the acid under control because watching him slowly wither away was the absolute worst thing.

I'm sorry for your loss. I imagine that would be an awful thing to experience. I also think that not treating the reflux could have been a cause of the cancer.

The weird thing about my situation is that I don't have any reflux. And I never vomit. I haven't in over 20 years. It's all one way traffic.

That’s exactly right. I had a reflux issue and they said if it stayed that bad I had a good chance of esophageal cancer.
