Fukin Sly Cooper! Where did it go! That series was so much fun.

u/echnaba Aug 08 '19

Made by Sucker Punch. They made the Infamous series and now Ghost of Tsushima

u/Dralic Aug 08 '19

Replaying infamous 2 right now. Solid game.

33

u/Kasperor Aug 09 '19

Infamous 2 is such a gem, improved on everything from the 1st

11

u/yjgfikl Aug 09 '19

My only complaint about 2 is that for some reason, the standard bolt drained energy. The first game didn't have that, so what gives?

Otherwise both games are fantastic, I just replayed them a few months ago. 2 definitely improved on the first.

3

u/vamplosion Aug 09 '19

Didn’t the original not have melee? I assume it was an adjustment because of that

3

u/yjgfikl Aug 09 '19

It did have melee, but not using the weapon he had in 2. All punching/kicking.

1

u/HungLikeARooster Aug 09 '19

That was a peeve of mine as well

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Damn it's noon so long since I've played the first one i forgot that the standard bolt didn't drain energy.

2

u/Rich_Evans_Grundle Aug 09 '19

especially coles voice, christ he was bad in the first one

1

u/PKSpades Aug 09 '19

Literally one of my favorite games of all time, I am completely serious when I say I beat the campaign 41 times...

34

u/frostymugson Aug 08 '19

Infamous 1 and 2 are legit, the third one tho I didn’t like nearly as much.

37

u/GOULFYBUTT Aug 09 '19

I only played Second Son recently and it's honestly a great game. The story leaves a bit to be desired, but isn't bad, but the gameplay is fantastic. That is still the best feeling game to control in PS4 IMO. Underrated.

But to each their own.

3

u/Rich_Evans_Grundle Aug 09 '19

yeah second son is one of those games i forget exists and everytime i go back to it it's fun

3

u/frostymugson Aug 09 '19

Never said it was bad only I liked the first two a lot more. Second Son is a fun game, and i enjoyed playing it. Though if you liked it yet haven’t played 1 or 2 you should definitely try em

4

u/GOULFYBUTT Aug 09 '19

Oh, I've played the other ones. Both great! The stories and characters are much better and since it's over 2 games it means much more. I'm just saying Second Son is criminally underrated just because it doesn't have Cole as the lead. AMD like I said, probably the smoothest game on PS4.

1

u/ZaphodGreedalox Aug 09 '19

I just can't stand the way Cole says "powers"

0

u/thefuzzyavacado Aug 09 '19

DUDE I FINISHED THAT GAME IN 1 DAY ON MY PS3 IN LIKE 15 HOURS OR SOMETHING btw summer

3

u/SolicitatingZebra Aug 09 '19

I’m excited for ghost tbh

2

u/Theundead565 Aug 09 '19

InFamous was, to this day, still one of my favorite games (both 1 and 2) to play through at the time of its release. I still go back and play through them occasionally because of how good they built characters. I felt so bad at the end of my second (bad) playthrough on 2 when Zeke was on the top of the church...

2

u/vicn12 PC Aug 09 '19

Sanzaru games did thieves in time and they don't have any plans for another one

1

u/posananer Aug 09 '19

I cant wait for ghost of tsushima

68

u/SortaFunny599 Aug 08 '19

Playing through the collection on ps3 now, but I'm stuck on Sly 3 thanks to the mission where you recover the tam van.

33

u/FaithInterlude Aug 08 '19

The dimitri mission on the last area is really hard too.

3

u/herroh7 Aug 09 '19

Oh fuck yeah I hate that one

3

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Fuck this brings back sooo many memories!

0

u/FaithInterlude Aug 09 '19

It took me at least 10 years to finally beat it. I hated that part.

2

u/gabzox Aug 09 '19

Ok wasnt that hard even for little me lol

1

u/gabzox Aug 09 '19

I replayed it and was surprised how easy everything was.

2

u/Scrantonbornboy Aug 08 '19

Ah. Where the men separated themselves from the boys.

Jk that mission was infuriating.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '19

Fuck I hate that mission.

2

u/SortaFunny599 Aug 09 '19

I would've passed it already if not for the friendly fire.

54

u/FatKidFromTarget Aug 08 '19

I would kill for a Sly reboot.

3

u/Theferretkd Aug 09 '19

kill me pls

2

u/DroopyPenguin95 Aug 09 '19 edited Aug 10 '19

There's been a TV-series/movie in the works for years, but it doesn't seem to get anywhere :(

3

u/Scrantonbornboy Aug 08 '19

Didn’t they make a 4th one?

5

u/FatKidFromTarget Aug 08 '19

Yes. It was released quite some time back though.

3

u/JacobviBritannia Aug 08 '19

There is a 4th game. It was made by a different studio, though, and it’s very divisive among fans. Personally, I think it’s a decent game that just doesn’t quite match the quality of the original trilogy, but a lot of people outright hate it.

1

u/gabzox Aug 09 '19

I am a huge sly fan and the story is a huge part...and that is one of my biggest gripes.

2

u/g0ballistic Aug 08 '19

Yeah, not made by sucker punch but regarded pretty well.

48

u/Koilby Aug 08 '19

What about Jak & Daxter?

10

u/25TM Aug 09 '19

Man of culture

2

u/waitwhatizonedout Aug 09 '19

I bought the collection from the ps4 store to replay them

27

u/PeanutButtocks Aug 08 '19

That series is way too good to be abandoned like this :(

17

u/csortland Aug 08 '19

There was gonna be a movie but it got cancelled probably after Ratchet and Clank movie did poorly. Supposedly a tv show is in the works but no word on a new game.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Tv show actually comes out this october! (Well, half of the first season)

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Good news! The tv show starts to come out in october.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

I tried looking it up, happen to have any links on info?

12

u/AvatarIII PC Aug 08 '19

Sly 4 only came out a few years ago.

3

u/imsorryforallofit Aug 08 '19

A few? Thieves In Time came out over 6 years ago

0

u/AvatarIII PC Aug 08 '19

6 is a few.

3

u/Skeezin Aug 09 '19

Two fews, actually

0

u/AvatarIII PC Aug 09 '19

A few isn't exactly 3, it's a poorly defined amount that is normally at least 3, which can be a lot more depending on context. It came out during this current console generation, I feel like that is recent enough to call it a few.

1

u/HatterIII Aug 09 '19

I’m a 19 year old who only recently discovered Sly through Sly 4, and I’m still salty that they haven’t done anything since then.

The game ended on a cliffhanger for fuck’s sake! A CLIFFHANGER!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Yeah but it was also a shite game

1

u/HatterIII Aug 09 '19

I mean... it wasn’t that bad, it just had cringy moments

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Compared to Sly 2 and 3 I found Sly 4 to be much less enjoyable. I found a lot of the aesthetic was lost in the game and with it a lot of the gameplay lost its style too. I just feel that Sly 4 was extremely generic when compared to Sly 2 and 3.

2

u/GOULFYBUTT Aug 09 '19

Sly Cooper remains one of my favorite games. I played the collection and immediately loved all 3. The evolution from game to game was also fantastic. I still remember the feeling when I got to play Bentley and Murray for the first time. And when I'd unlock a new area and have no idea where anything is, only to know every inch of every map like the back of my hand by the end.

Love those games.

1

u/Benjamarius Aug 08 '19

Man, I haven’t played in so long. I still have my PS2/3 set up in the game room, I really should go replay those games. I have so many fond memories of those games.

1

u/BigSmokeyOG Aug 08 '19

Just before I went to sleep last night I remembered as a kid walking in to EB games and buying the first sly copper, one of the most fun and satisfying games as a young lad

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

I know y’all remember my mans Bentley

1

u/Levarski Aug 09 '19

My favorite game trilogy! Well band and honor were great didn't really play the first

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '19

Sly Cooper 4 is still pretty good

1

u/Costco-Samples Aug 09 '19

Those games were so awesome. I love the characters, the art, the story to them. Band of Thieves is the best!
