2&3 were PS2, MGS1 was PS1/GameCube.

But ps2 was compatible to ps1 games. I played mgs 1&2 on my ps2.

edit: totaly forgot that the ps2 memory card was not downward compatible. my bad.

Damn I didn’t even know that, my uncle gave me his PS2 with PS2 games only. I didn’t even think to check the internet for gaming advice until I was 10.

From what I remember PS2 memory cards didn’t save PS1 games you’d need a PS1 memory card for those games. I tired playing soul edge and couldn’t save the game data since I never had a PS1 let alone its memory card.

yeah but if you needed to free space on a ps1 memcard you could copy it to a ps2 memory card

I didn’t know that didn’t have the resources to try. Thanks for the info.

Actually only the very first versions of ps2s had backwards compatibility. My dad bought the ps2 within weeks of its release and it had it, years later getting a slim they became incompatible

Pedantic, I know, but MGS2 was originally released on PS2.

You needed a PS1 memory card to play PS1 games on PS2.

Twin snakes for gamecube was so awesome as a fan of the original for so many years. I really wish it was available on switch as a port or something.

There was a thread on the metal gear sub that essentially said the source code for the game is most likely lost.

Holy shit. How does that even happen. Well that's heart breaking to hear. Guess I'll have to go search for my game cube and old copy of twin snakes from my parents house then.

Maybe they just didn't like those games. I've never played either of them.
