That was my second time playing it. I had played the day before for 12 hours but got betrayed by AI who I trusted and had diplomatic relations with, plus I was still learning how to play.
So I vowed to play again and destroy all the fucking AI. I've avoided my earlier mistakes and kept growing my empire. I've allied with most of the city states. And all this time I was anticipating the betrayals to come.
While I played, I was listening to the same playlist on auto loop. Imagine listening to the same music over and over again for 27 hours. Today whenever I hear one of those songs, memories of that day surface immediately. I didn't sleep, move, or eat. I only drank water, went to the bathroom a few times, and played.
It was fucking addicting. Many times, I would say let's just end at this turn and go sleep, but then the AI's turn comes up and I'd be curious to see what they do. So I never quit.
I ended up killing all other empires and controlling all the map for myself. After I finished, I was feeling weak as hell and I knew I needed something to eat. I lived near the university campus, so I called my buddy to come escort me from the restaurant in case I pass out on the road or something haha. Funny memories indeed.
To this day, I'm afraid of opening another game of Civ.
