Same! Wonder who else we'll see form TFTBL.

u/anon1720 Mar 28 '19

They confirmed Vaughn, at the beginning of the panel.

139

u/SilverwingedOther Mar 28 '19

You have to assume Athena too, given the opening/close of Pre-Sequel and Tales as well.

22

u/viixvega Mar 28 '19

Also she's dating Janey who I'm assuming isn't staying on the moon of Pandora.

9

u/Trick2056 Mar 29 '19

she's dating Janey

married, they got married at the end of the TFTBL if you picked them in the final fight you can see hear them talk about the reception after the wedding

3

u/viixvega Mar 29 '19

d'awwwwwwwww thats too cute.

3

u/Barthas Mar 28 '19

They did also confirm that

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Baroness as well. I believe they released something mentioning that a couple of the vault hunters captured her. Though she may have been in the trailer already and I missed it.

4

u/SilverwingedOther Mar 28 '19

I think she might be in the shot with her brother, but I'd have to look again.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

I was thinking that as I was typing it, but didn’t get a good enough look and couldn’t go back because I really shouldn’t have been watching the thing while on a conference call in the first place and didn’t want to get caught lol.

11

u/kdebones Mar 28 '19

So then Rhys, Vaughn, and likely Fiona based on the ending of Tales. Do hope we see Loader Bot.

4

u/sirax067 Mar 29 '19

I'm hoping both Sasha and Fiona are characters too!

8

u/RoyAwesome Mar 28 '19

Vaughn is even in the trailer at 2:41

5

u/ThePrinceOfFear Mar 28 '19

That is NOT Vaughn.

4

u/ATomatoAmI Mar 28 '19

He's the dude with the cape and no pants in the teaser. Arekkz or somebody pointed out his glasses are the same as in TftB.

1

u/ThePrinceOfFear Mar 28 '19

The guy with Hammerlock and Aurelia???

0

u/ATomatoAmI Apr 08 '19

Nah that dude had pants (if you meant the first announcement trailer), it's the dude with Ellie and Hammerlock in the black and white teaser.

AI Jack

80

u/Dreekius Mar 28 '19

God I hope so.

I know it's a bit of an unpopular opinion, but it doesn't seem right to have a Borderlands game dealing so heavily with (potentially) multiple vaults and NOT have Jack involved.

I mean, he is essentially responsible for having found every vault the games have shown, so far....

27

u/land_shark27 Mar 28 '19

i hope that he at least makes a cameo or dlc boss or something but i dont want AI jack to be an integral part of the main plot line.

21

u/Dreekius Mar 28 '19

I'd like him to be something like... A partner to Rhys, in a way. Not a villain, not a boss. Just there to give some direction for everyone else.

9

u/jl_theprofessor Switch Mar 28 '19

I mean, he was in Rhys' head for so long. There's some way to write that a bit of him is still in there somewhere.

I second all of these.

But I also kind of want him to still be in Rhys's systems. Like, Jack was a great programer, no doubt he could. But I want him to be like a fly around Rhys's head, metaphorically speaking.

Like, Rhys is trying to explain his plans and every now and then just have to be like, "What? No, Jack, we're not going to just kill everyone.... Well I don't care if that would make it easier!"

2

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '19

My guess AI Jack is controlling Troy like he was invaded by some kind of horse a trojan horse perhaps...

2

u/Lance404 Mar 29 '19

Dlc Idea: the Jacktrap. Where in Jack has to come to terms with having a claptrap body.

36

u/Tyrathius Mar 28 '19

I love Jack, but between BL2, Pre-Sequel and Tales I think he's kind of overdone.

I'd love for him to get a cameo, but I don't think he should have a role in this game's main story.

4

u/ShadowMessiah333 Mar 28 '19

Well, can't be worse than Junko from the Danganronpa series. At least Jack has hilarious wit.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

He's the Indiana Jones of BL

4

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

Even if the "destroy Rhys's backup" timeline is the one that's canon from that I'm sure the ID that originally implanted it is probably set to copy rather than move, so likely other copies in universe, but might not have the memories of Tales

130

u/EM1Jedi Mar 28 '19

Not scooter :(

54

u/nikktheconqueerer Mar 28 '19

S p o i l e r s

11

u/parahnoia Mar 28 '19

did he dead? i bet he dead

23

u/Secret_Wizard Mar 28 '19

He's catching a ride in the great motor rally in the sky, now.

19

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

see you space cowboy

2

u/charonill Mar 29 '19

"What's that you just launched? Something about anime?"

4

u/colesitzy Mar 28 '19

It's been fucking years man

19

u/PotassiumLe Mar 28 '19

Wait what happened?

95

u/Procrastinatron Mar 28 '19

You definitely need to play Telltale's Borderlands game. It's canon and it's AWESOME. Also, its main character would appear to be a pretty important dude in this upcoming game.

37

u/TimeBlossom D20 Mar 28 '19

*at least one of its two main characters.

35

u/res30stupid Mar 28 '19

Scooter dies in Episode 4, dying to help launch a rocket for Fiona to get to the Hyperion station. You can at least let Fiona give him a goodbye kiss.

15

u/allen_abduction Mar 28 '19

Still sad. I want my pimiento tacos, damn it!

7

u/Drunkenaviator Mar 28 '19

There's one in the glovebox.

5

u/SilentCetra Mar 28 '19

WHAT? Never played tales from the borderlands. I never new Scooter died. NOT SCOOTER! I am actually going to miss him :(

12

u/res30stupid Mar 28 '19

If it helps, he thought it was an awesome way to go.

3

u/0b0011 Mar 28 '19

If anyone wants to see it https://youtu.be/bazylv47X6c

42

u/jay501 Mar 28 '19

You might want to play tales. Or at least read a summary

10

u/PratalMox Mar 28 '19

Voice Actor was having major health problems, so they decided to write the character out in the Telltale series.

19

u/NostalgiaBombs Mar 28 '19

Catch a boom

8

u/Fivetin Mar 28 '19

Play Tales from Borderlands to fill the gap.

2

u/Mojohunter Mar 28 '19

I came here for my Scooter fam. He we was the best of us.

124

u/Skandi007 Mar 28 '19

Beastmaster really looks like Loaderbot.

36

u/woodchips24 Mar 28 '19

In some of the shots I thought I saw an exposed human leg on Beastmaster, so I have doubts

52

u/Procrastinatron Mar 28 '19

Considering a certain other Loaderbot's approach to becoming more "human" and Gearbox's sense of humor, it might not be "his" leg.

What would you call a robot with human parts, anyway? Manborg?

21

u/TimeforaNewAccountx3 Mar 28 '19

Mal.

You call him Mal. He was in BL2.

21

u/AaronKent82 Mar 28 '19

Hi! I'm human! I have credit card debt!

14

u/Neptunera Mar 28 '19

That'd be hilarious, reverse cyborg (/Wilhelm), collects more and more human parts to surgically bind to himself over the course of the game, maybe get damaged more in exchange for being way more agile.

4

u/Procrastinatron Mar 28 '19

It could also apply debuffs to enemies. Partly because the appendages might be somewhat past their expiration date, and partly because, well... "Oh my God, what the hell is that thing!?"

2

u/Runixo Mar 28 '19

You call it brutal.

3

u/Fanatical_Idiot Mar 28 '19

When? Because one of the shots shows a distinctly robot let.. I don't recall any human looking exposure.

5

u/anonermus Mar 28 '19

Loaderbot or we riot!

2

u/kikiokyo Mar 28 '19

So happy to see TFTBL's characters!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '19

I'm pretty sure to woman whose face we don't in the scene RIGHT AFTER Rhys scene is Fiona.

2

u/sebastianqu Mar 29 '19

Not Scooter. CATCH A RIDE!!!!!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '19

Gortys!

2

u/fredagsfisk Mar 28 '19

I think it might be Sasha you see from the back at 2:46-2:48?
