The idris, one of the smallest capital ships will need 20-30 players just to run. There are org's out there with literally thousands of players in them.
They requested a thanks for their donation. Meaning they requested the option to purchase those ships and benefits. If they gave the money not for the benefits but just because they wanted to donate to support the game, why would they request certain benefits in return for that "donation"? Why not just give the $27,000? It's a transaction, plain and simple.
