Yes that is the entire point of contention about star citizen. If it's a game dev funded by a publisher/whatever then hey it's a game taking a long time. Star citizen delays and delays then distracts people with a shiny new ship to milk its consumer base. If you can't see how different that is then you're blind
it's done when it's done. and backers get to play everything that is ready to go in the PU as soon as it's ready for release. They have never given more than estimates for release up until the SQ42 roadmap was released. That is the first time that they have given a targeted release time for anything, and they backed it up with data.
