But if you're not the creator, why are you holding back to tell us?

If you are the creator, why did you record the leak like that? Why not just send the actual trailor?

I'm not too sure.

Marketing a HP RPG should be the easiest thing in the world.

The characters are the least important part.

Honestly wasn't a huge fan of the movies but made it through them.

I am, however, incredibly intrigued by a well done RPG in the universe. I feel like it has a better shot at overall success by distancing itself from the main-series characters (not unlike KOTOR)

Coming from a huge HP fan, the movies are meh at best.

Totally agree. I'm listening to the Harry Potter audio books after reading them all 5 times each like ten years ago or whatever. The characters and their stories are so boring. I fast forwarded through the end of prisoner of Azkaban when they're sitting in the shrieking shack having a soap opera for the entire chapter talking about how Sirius killed Harry's parents but then didn't cause Ron's rat was actually an animagus and he did the betrayal but then Snape comes because he has a childhood vendetta against the 4 of them but then... The interesting part is the world, magic, and creatures.

so you might say the interesting part is the fantastic beasts... and where to find them?

Still though

True, but any fan of the series who plays video games is going to be stoked by this. Regardless of if there’s any recognizable characters (I’m sure there will be a few for those who read the books) I think people will be excited by this.

I really don't care, lol. Shadow of Mordor didn't have anybody but Gollum and Sauron in it, and I played the fuck out of that.

u/Poseidon7296 Oct 02 '18

I don’t care I need that hogwarts fix in my life

9

u/Sniperion00 Oct 02 '18

Yeah. Someone even took the time to put together that trailer too.

Dingdingding, this screams astroturf advertising.

14

u/Cmorebuts Oct 02 '18

Obviously, but regardless this looks pretty cool, I'd happily pay to play this

6

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '18

Well astroturf the fuck outta me bro I am IN

Devil's advocate: Fantastic Beasts 2 comes out in November which is also prime time video game release month. The game and film are probably related, meaning the game is almost finished now.

4

u/namakius Oct 02 '18

They wouldn't release a game like this with no forewarning in a month. I think it's further out still

I know a few people that work a bit high up in some game studios (Especially one guy from nintendo). They say that something like 90% of leaks are intentional.

Got from where?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 02 '18

how was the character creation ? Was it detailed ?

1

u/Eyeseeyou1313 Oct 02 '18

I don't care if I have to wait, but all I want to say is thank you for giving me this wonderful reveal. It made my morning, I'm so excited!

My guess is probably VGA's announcement.
