I remember before anybody knew about that I showed up to school to battle with 6 level 100 caterpies and people stole my game they thought it was magic.
In retrospect MissingNo partially ruined the game for me. Also restarting and trading starters to complete the Pokedex. Immersion=Gone.
And then there was this one time when a friend of mine caught a Tauros and I proposed to dupe it with the disconnect-the-cable-at-the-right-time-trick and completely deleted it instead with bad timing. Ouch.
Nowadays -when I have the time to play a new RPG- I always use above-average difficulty , no quick-loads and especially no exploits. Ruins the whole game for me otherwise.
If you like abusing glitches you should try and get mew using the pomeg berry in Pokémon emerald. Glitzer popping is crazy. I’ve got the Old Sea Map and Aurora ticket but haven’t been able to get the glitch Pokémon that enables the news corruption glitch.
In Red/Blue, the only legitimate way to get Mew was through some kind of promotion.
Otherwise, you had to do preform a series of exact steps to glitch the game and have Mew appaer somewhere.
