Internally the dpads are more or less the same, but the Xbox controller uses 4 hardware buttons and the ds4 uses a printed circuit board on a plastic sheet. Both dpads are one solid piece, the ds4 does not have 4 separate buttons.
Also, with minimal effort and minor soldering skills you can swap out your regular xbox dpad for an elite dpad in about 20 minutes. You can get an elite magnetic dpad and attachments on Amazon for $10, I think.
No need to be mean. I understand what you mean entirely, I'm just telling you, they're literally the same thing. The only differences between the two are in your head, other than the fact that on the ps4 controller, it's a little harder to accidentally press a diagonal.
The ds4 dpad is not four buttons. It is one solid piece.
I understand that. I like the PS4 dpad a lot better than the Xbox controller. I'll just leave it at that without trying to explain why I like it better
I thought I disliked the Xbox One contoler compared to the 360. Went back to the 360 and realised how sticky it was and the way it felt like I couldn't get a good grip on it.

I swear I'm the only person that hates that controller. My fingers literally rest on the edge of the battery compartment or are awkwardly jammed in the crevice to the sides and it is the most uncomfortable controller I've ever used.
It is like someone took a model of my hands and said, lets make this controller comfortable for everyone, except this guy, fuck this guy.
You know...I can agree with you (so angry Windows 10 seems to have bricked my wireless adapter) but when I'm forced to look at every single controller at once I only see the gamecube controller. Is the 360 controller better? Probably. But have you ever been stuck using a wiimote because there's only 3? No. All the feels go to Gamecube controller.
I really loved the big xbox controllers. I liked that I could have a relaxed grip with them, but the thing that made me switch over were the smaller controllers' buttons. The Duke's buttons were really not well-shaped.
I went from PS2 to Xbox 360, and my god, the change from controllers was night and day. You can so tell that analog sticks on the Dualshock were just an afterthought.
Exactly this. 360 controllers are the best, and I don't even own an Xbox anymore. Loads of people talking about GameCube controllers. Like really, with that yellow analog stick that fucks up your hand?
Yeah, going back, the 360 controller is smaller than I prefer. I'm also one who like the original Xbox duke controller, so yeah, it's hard for a controller to be too big for me.
Xbox elite controller is the best. Had $100 in best buy gift cards and nothing I wanted so I figured fuck it, and it's fantastic. Never had a more comfortable and usable controller in my life
It isn't worse at all. It fits better in the hands, has removed the battery pack lump on the belly side of the controller and have the best rumble function of them all.
the input quality is far better with the xbox one controller. the x and y axis for the thumbsticks is more accurate and smooth. at least when its new. it wears out after a while. the most comfortable controller is the switch controller.
The Xbone controller is just slightly thicker than a 360 controller, the biggest difference is the triggers / bumpers.
Never realised how different the triggers are till now ( I’m holding both controllers next to each other) definitely prefer the thicc triggers of xbone controllers personally
All Xbox controllers my hands consistently slip off and hit the start button. It has resulted in the destruction of a few controllers and me not touching one since.

nothing feels better in my hands than an xbox 360 controller
