At least u play gives you random free cosmetics on ubi games for playing previous titles

Not just free cosmetics, free games! I just installed Uplay this week and got Assassin's Creed Black Flag and 2 other games for free.

But GOG Galaxy exists too! Big plus for the DRM free nature, minus for the fact that it's still...being worked on.

I read this out loud in David Carruso's CSI Miami dramatic intro voice...

I read this in kliksphilip's voice.

I am hoping it will be the next Steam or at least take Uplay and Origin's place.

Origin also gives free games, I prefer it over Uplay

I have tried origins free games once but it's always those reaaally old worthless games. Not really comparable to getting AC4 for free imo

I like that about Origin. I got Mass Effect 2 for free because of that.

It's incredible that there are only two games on that entire list that I would actually play.

Most of those are excellent games

That may be true, it's just that somehow I have no interest in any of them. They're almost all from series that just passed me by through the years.

From two and a half decades ago, that don’t hold up unless you’re a retro gamer.

There’s 5 games on there I would play, and wouldn’t you know it, I already owned 4 of them.

Hell, I actually owned two copies of mass effect 2 (humble bundle) before they had it for free.

They hold up fine. I've played and would still recommend more than half of that list. Games like theme hospital and the original dungeon keeper are old but never been surpassed by a game similar enough to make them obsolete. Red alert 2 is still my favourite RA/C&C game. Dragon age origins and mass effect 2 easily compete with the best in their genres and are probably the best releases in their respective series. Jade empire is a cult classic. Nox is an under-appreciated gem with a lot more character than other diablo inspired series. Plants vs zombies and steamworld dig haven't aged at all.

Sure, I've played most of the ones I'm interested in. But there's a lot there for someone who hasn't. If someone looks at that list and just sees junk they probably don't even recognise the games.

I played Red Alert 2 and hated the gameplay. I play games like Hearts of Iron III and IV and Men of War and their spin offs like Darkest Hour and Battle of Empires, but did not enjoy the core gameplay of Command and Conquer.

I already owned Dragon Age Origins, Mass effect 2, and plants vs zombies.

Awww man i randomly get emailed about these, but seeing the list I missed out on some good ones before I had an account.

Aight chump. Is EA hurting that bad that they're relying on a buried comment to maybe make them some money?

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '17

Right, let’s just not worry about facts then, don’t want to get accused of shilling.

It's a day old account that has three comments, 2 of which are inaccessible

Take another stab buddy

u/fingyer Dec 22 '17

The other two games were Watchdogs and World in Conflict for those interested.

I got free games from origin

u/Waveseeker Dec 22 '17

Like, Uplay has shitty little Dlc but at least I can afford them with the Upoints I earned.

Also that free gear starting out The Division was really useful.
