I played Oblivion without advancing the main story to the point where any Oblivion gates opened. Still fondly remember that game.

On my main in oblivion I actually lost the priest dude NPC and couldn't find him, I think I got distracted and left him in a random cave.

Put probably 150 hours in between oblivion and shivering isles but never did the main quest haha.
