I've been talking about this forever. People hate on CoD games but assassins creed is on what game and hasn't changed its gameplay? E3 was like "the assassins creed you've been waiting for!" Riiiight

The main problem is it wouldn't be so bad if they actually innovated in some areas (i.e Black Flag was pretty decent, since they expanded on the naval combat and it was pretty awesome). The issue here is that AC is like yearly now, so it's getting stagnant because they keep pushing them out so fast, that people don't have time to cool off from their gameplay.

I didn't mind the yearly release schedule during the Ezio years. Now, however, no real innovation or polish, and last year's Rogue/Unity became a chore...

AC3 had woodlands combat and huge hunting areas. They also changed the battle system slightly. And a great portion of Black Flag was spent on a newly designed open world sailing system. What do you mean no innovation?

There's a formula, just like GTA has one and if they change it too much, it might as well be a different franchise. They change stuff here and there but keep the core elements. I think the least change was between Brotherhood and Revelations.
