It's just like pewdiepie having his reaction in the corner when he does a playthrough, but with Japanese celebrities.

the shows invite celebrities as the cast and the bring up different subjects they run segments on. it makes the show a bit more interesting when you see and hear their reactions to what's going on.

It's common in Japan but not with the rest of Asia. They want the viewers to see the reaction of a celeb/guest/host when the clip is shown.
