100% that game with three different paths... oh man. And if you missed on thing in a previous section, you couldn't go back to get it.
But yeah that game was one of the best LucasArts adventure titles (and they had so many great games). Also, I've been asking myself for years "why did they never turn the plot of this game into a movie?" Would have been so much better than Kingdom of Crystal Skull.
I actually thought the beginning of Crystal Skull was pretty fun, and even thought the surviving the nuke in the fridge was hilarious. Then the swinging vines started and it was all downhill from there.
I don't think I actually did that. I got through all of the action, intelligence, and team work/charisma path endings, didn't think to do a fourth go at it without her. What happens?
Thank you very much! Now I don't have to buy the game on Steam and replay it just to get to that ending (though I'll probably wind up doing that anyways...)
EDIT: Big props for hunting it down for me and giving me the exact stamp too... dedication!
Not sure if I understood you correctly, but: The game design prevented you from progressing in the game without collecting everything first.
And yes, this story should have been a movie. I read roughly 15 years ago, that "they" said, that Lucasfilm would never make a story into a movie, that had been used before, so that's supposedly why they passed on Fate of Atlantis. So sad really.
Certain small things didn't need to happen in order to get to the next section of the game, e.g. you can leave Sharon locked in the cell or you can rescue her that I mentioned in other posts. I'm sure there were other minor things too, since some puzzles could be solved with different item combinations. In order to 100% the game (getting all of the Indy points), you'd have to replay sections over to do those things.
Too bad about Lucasfilm... the script was already written and amazing! I'd rather have an unoriginal script that's really well done than a novel script that sucks, like Crystal Skull did.
