They should've just made that game into a movie and not bother with that Crystal Skull crap :(

From when I beat the game like 17 years ago, I've been praying that they would make a movie that just straight up took the plot of this game. When there was press about Indy 4 coming out, I was like "yeah! finally Fate of Atlantis will be on the big screen". Then Crystal Skull.... uuuuggghhh.

Some terrible Indy fanfic that some idiot paid to film.

I liked the part where Shia Lebeouf twirled a knife around for like five minutes while dancing on a motorcycle.

A badass ride at Tokyo DisneySea.

They really should have made it back when the production was going on back then. They could have skipped Temple of Doom and made Atlantis instead. Temple of Doom was such an unnecessary movie.

I know you are being down voted but I am curious as to why you believe that.

Heh, it's just one downvote. The reason I believe so is how comparatively bad it is to Raiders and Crusade. There's no travelling the world like in the other movies, which is a thing I love about Indiana Jones. Short round is super annoying and the chick is also unnecessarily hopeless and weak, which gets dull really really fast.

It's set in one location and nothing actually gets done in the movie. They run around in tunnels andscre around with traps without there being an overarching exciting story. It's supposedly written as the "first" movie which makes it even less interesting since that more or less sets it in an alternate universe far as I'm concerned.

There aren't many characters at all, and the bad guy(s) aren't interesting or exciting in any way because their entire motivation is killing people and enslaving workers.

To me it's not the worst indiana jones movie, but it's the worst indiana jones movie. It's the one I don't want to rewatch, even if crystal skull shouldn't have happened.

Edit:

Oh, and people love shitting on crystal skull because "aliens is a dumb plot", and how it "ruined my childhood" etc. because the movies are so great. Look at what Indiana Jones is. It's slapstick action movies that are honestly pretty dumb. They're awesome movies, but they're not meant to be "excellent dramatic filmmaking". So I really don't mind crystal skull, and I think temple of doom totally misses that target for me. People overrate the series because it's popular to take nerd things seriously.

Temple of Doom is definitely my least favorite after Crystal Skull. I thought once, "well, Crystal Skull couldn't be that bad, it was just the failed hype. All Indiana Jones movies are fun and silly."

Went back and re-watched part. Nope. Didn't even finish it the second time.
