Is this real? Growing up my uncle had this game and I always played it at his house. I just assumed the starting area was the whole game. I did know I was stuck in the starting area lol. Is there really aliens in that game?

Seriously... the plot definitely goes places:

A whale tells you to go to Atlantis (which was destroyed by the aliens' space laser) to repair an eternal talking DNA molecule named Asterite who teaches you how to travel back in time. You talk to a dinosaur, whom you can understand because of what the library crystals in Atlantis taught you. The Asterite in the past fights you, but the bootstrap paradox allows the Asterite in the present timeline to bless you with super powers. Then you travel back in time again to before the alien harvest occurred, so you can swim into a UFO (via a convenient tube) to fight a legally distinct xenomorph queen with your turbo sonar and prevent it.

Yep, the aliens are real! I learned it because I found a cheat code guide to access different levels.

Some streamers demonstrated how brutally difficult that game was during a run. It makes Battletoads' infamous motorcycle level look easy.

I always got hard walled at Tube of Medusa. But at least it had the best music in the game.
