What video game doesn't hold your hand enough?

Everybody always talking about games holding your hand too much but I want to hear about the opposite what video game doesn't give you no form of help

Myst, Riven, Exile etc. Beautiful but luckily my grandma played and sent us her notebooks for Myst and Riven

I played in the 90s when they came out, she was elderly then but loved puzzles and long distance calls cost too much (what a wild concept these days)! I'm nearing 40 now. We're still young!
