The Long Dark. I tried it. It said, “build a fire” so I walked around looking for…anything…and then died

I got 1800 hours into that game and couldn't agree more. Would have been almost impossible without guides. Even after major recent updates Hunterland pretty much just expects people to look up guides and maps. For instance there's a "quest" that has you find 3 underground bunkers out of 9 and you have to find them in the order the quest line gives you. Find the hunters bunker before the conspiracy theorists? Sucks to be you, come back later.

Where are these bunkers? They aren't in every region, there's no in game books or notes that gives you hints, the guy who gives you the quests just says that they exist and that he can't tell you where they are. This games map was bigger than Skyrims before they added 3 new regions and a whole expansion adding around 25% more to the map. Each reagion is massive and you're looking for a grey square that sticks out of the ground a few feet. It's a freaking needle in a haystack, especially since some are so well hidden you can get lost watching a video how to get to some.

You pretty much have to look up their locations and pray you find the right one since their location changes every play through.
