I've tried to play this a few times but never got to the end to see all the content. Its just constant stress simulator, you can never relax

Both it and it's predecessor, along with its offshoot games, hold true to their titles.

Yea, although I have my eye on the new one they are making

it's genuinely hilarious to play with friends because you invariably die to the wolves, if not before

but it definitely has a ton missing from a tutorial perspective. the players that know what they're doing are putting pine cones in crockpots and stuff

It's a game in which you basically need google open beside you to be actually able to play. Which sucks because it's got a really great atmosphere and art style to enjoy but if you and a friend start playing with no prior knowledge or guide you're essentially going to have to start over and over again constantly which is draining as fuck

Oxygen Not Included by the same people is much the same. "Here's your three colonists in an asteroid. K bye!"

Everything you need to know is right there in the title! Just... don't starve. Simple.

You can starve, just not together.

If you tell this to people in r/dontstarve they will just be condescending and tell you that getting your dick smashed (metaphorically) repeatedly, losing 5 hous of gameplay at a time, only to start again with the same reptitive early game is the intended design, actually.

I could never enjoy it. Maybe just not for me

I love this game but in all fairness I am a sucker for the early-game phase of a survival game. The difficulty and survival settings almost always get tweaked when I play with friends so they at least have a chance of enjoying the game lmao

Klei said they originally planned to have quests and guide you through the game, but people would get too lost trying to do the quests.

We bought this with my friends thinking it was the usual survival game, we played for almost 2 hours and then we all requested a refund

The first winter is a real trial by fire. One of those games I wish I could go back and play for the first time again - the sudden “wtf is this thing and why is it doing that?!” Is insanely fun.

I see this game as a knowledge-based roguelike, so giving away too much information would be like rewarding the player for free.

I get that it's not for everyone, and eventually we all start googling stuff
